Maybe you can call me crazy..... but 500ci engines with 7000 rpm rev limits would last longer than 410s and 360's...... And still easily produce over 800hp...

No...you need to put the drivers in a cage match with folding chairs and pipe wrenches singing karaoke in front of 3 judges to get anyone interested in anything these days.

No Swampy....i think you are confusing Napcar into this now!!!!!!!!!! HAHAHA!! oh, and to John, to an extent, i see what you are trying to say, but to say that the "360 driver of the year" & currently 3rd in the Ntl Points race is not your typical 360 driver??????? well, who is then? Your take on the Promoters........well, look at it this way.....they (and ALL professional sports) are in the entertainment business. remember when all other forms of entertainment used to compare their costs to "going to the movies"? what about (and it's still true, to a point) "can't race on fri. nite because of high school football" Racing at any level has evolved into a player in the entertainment market. By that i mean that it no longer has to settle for the odd time slots...be it live or TV, ,,what ever.....Swampy knows the marketing........that's what Ad Men are for....it's their job.....just as the Promoters have chosen their particular endeavors for their job. Money in/about racing? What a novel new approach!!......Everyone involved in racing at the business level has a take, allbeit somewhere, somehow.....; you know they wouldn't be doing it if they weren't making a buck!. Casinos tell you to come to their place & have "fun"....you're gonna lose in the log run, right? well, there is a lot of difference in how you have "fun" & that is up to the promoters to sell. Again.....we live in a 410 hot bed, but i really don't see a problem with 360's. Yes, i remember, too, when they first evolved, that it was going to be an "entry"class.....or an"econo" class....we said then that it wouldn't be long before the cost would go up there, too......why?????? Because winning is something you can't put a price tag on......it's more mental than the actual feat itself....if the racers you say would rather be in a 410, then why aren't they? The top 3 in the Ntl. 360 points have all raced 410's, you're right on that, so isn't there something that draws them to what they are doing now that is beyond the $$$ or is it only the $$? hell, you know it & i know it...a racer will get into most anything for a chance to win! I hope your right in that 410's will see a growth surge, but i also think that there is room for a Ntl. 360 tour, also. The fans can decide where they'll spend their $$$. Oh, and by the way....I've ALWAYS paid my way into the races, never gotten in free!

...and don't forget - you have put more than one beer vendor through college, too.

All good points Stubb...
