The 83 Henderson is running is simply the 59 car with a new number. The team, asked Justin what number he wanted and he chose it because of his afthers number.
Tyler Bear is running for Mike VanderEcken, as if Rheihardt in team cars. Both cars will have cool paint schemes and hels giving some young guys a shot
Suprised to see Chad Trout on there as well with his owner passing away. Their racing has been limited. However, I;d guess it;s a tribute of sorts to him by making this trek out

Not only was that Rod Henderson's number, it was also the number Justin ran for the first 4 or 5 years in Sprint cars. Hopefully they do a white and red scheme like how it looked when Rod was driving it.

Completely nitpicking here, but Thomas Kennedy is essentially listed twice as there is an entry for the BDS #1 (Driver TBA) and a listing for Thomas Kennedy 21k. Thomas is driving the BDS #1 for the 410 Nats as he did last week for 360 Nats. But again, nitpicking and good to see the count above 100.

This is said TONGUE IN CHEEK but Angell Park had 53 cars for the IRA/ALL STAR tilt that got rained out. That, right there was a supreme turnout I think

With 100 plus entries obvisously they cant all pit. Where do the wed quallifiers go for thursday?
Who races on friday and does anyone and if you are 3rd in the dmain wed or thursday are you done?
What is the schedule for sat? Any qualifying or heats?
Even though I may not know you, I
care what most of you think!

- Wed qualifiers leave after races and go to Walmart, Hotel, etc. parking lots or wherever they can take their rig and work on their car.
- No D Main on Qualifying Nights. Only Top 50 qualifiers make up the heats. Rest are put into a "last chance heats" (if needed) where Top 8 tag the back of the C. Everything based off of points and everyone CAN run Saturday starting with usually an E Main. So you're not done even if you have the lowest point total on your qualifying night. Some guys will run the E or D on Saturday, some will pack up and go.
- Saturday is just straight up E main, D main, C main, B main, A main. No heats. Eveyrone lined up by points gained on qualifying night, unless...
- Friday = "Hard Knox Night" + Speed Sport Challenge. Easy one first, Speed Sport Challenge = international invitation event. American drivers who competed in specified events in AUS this past winter are eligible. All foreign drivers from AUS, NZ and Canada who compete/qualify on Wed/Thurs are also eligible. One race, lineup determined by qualifying points accrued on Wed/Thurs by eligible drivers then inverted (14 Invert I think). Winner gets 25th starting spot in Sat's A Main (if not already qualified through their Wed/Thurs points). $10k to win. "Hard Knox" = clean slate. Split qualifying, heats, C Main, Two B Mains, and the A Main. Top 4 finishers of HK A Main fill spots 17-20 of Sat's A Main. Here's where it gets interesting. After Wed/Thurs the Top 16 teams in points obviously make up Sat's A Main. Teams 17 - 26 in points make up the first 10 positions of Sat's B Main. Those 10 teams can elect to NOT take their Sat B Main starting position and wipe their slate clean and try and qualify through Friday Night instead. It's a gamble.
Does that help? If I'm off on any of this, maybe vande or someone else will chime in...

Split field qualifying - roughly half the cars unload each night and they don't allow the haulers in the pits. The rest of the haulers for those not right are parked around the greater Knoxville area.
Friday is the non-qualifiers program. Points are tallied after Weds/Thurs qualifying nights and the top 16 are locked into Saturday's A-Main (rows 1-8), with the next 10 being locked into the first five rows of Saturday's B-Main.
However, new a few years ago is the Hard Knox program, which gives any of those already locked into Saturday's B a chance to give back their locked in status to run Friday's complete program, where the top four finishers are given spots 17-20 in Saturday's A.
I believe that the finishing order Friday sets the remainder of the Saturday features - ie, fifth place in Friday's A-Main lines up behind whoever of the 10 locked in to Saturday's B stayed put (if all 10 locked in, fifth place would start 11th in Saturday's B) and so on.
Saturday schedule is features only - they will start by hotlapping E and D main cars, then run the E main, hotlap the C main, run the D main, hotlap the B main, run the C main, hotlap the A and run the B before the big show hits the track.

WEDNESDAY AND THURSDAY QUALIFYING NIGHTS
Order of Events: Hot laps, Qualifications, 5 Heats, C Main, B Main, 25 lap A Main.
Qualifications - 200 points are awarded for quick timer, 198 for second quick, 196 for third, etc.
Only the top 50 qualifiers each night make the heats, the rest are put in the last chance heats if needed in which the first eight finishers will fill the back of that night's C feature (starting in the sixth row). If there are ten or less cars not making the heats, they will line straight up by time starting in the sixth row. The quickest will be given 50 points, the next 47, etc.
Last Chance Heats (for drivers out of the top 50 in Qual.) – 50 points awarded to the winner, 47 for 2nd, etc.
Heats - 100 points are awarded for the heat race winner, points go down by three for each position: 97, 94, 91, 88, etc.
Heats are inverted by 8. This sets up the best racing of the
week. Only the top four finishers go to A Main, fifth through eighth go to the B Main, finishing positions 9-10 go to the C Main.
C Main
Top four finishers go to back of the B. Fifth place is worth 92 pts., 6th is 90, etc.
B Main
The top four finishers transfer to the tail of the A. The B awards 142 points for fifth, 140 for sixth and so on by twos.
A Main
The A Main points are the same as time trials: 200, 198, 196 etc. This explains how a driver can not make the A, but if he timed well may have more points than someone who did make the A. The invert for the A Main is eight.
First tie breaker is finish position in respective main event. Next tie breaker is rank in time trial. The third tie breaker is pill draw. Other tie breaking criteria may be implemented if needed.
A perfect score (quick time, heat win, feature win) is 500.
The top 16 in combined points from Wednesday and Thursday are locked in to Saturday's Championship A Main, Teams 17th-26th in points are awarded the first 10 positions in the Saturday B Main. The rest of the field comes back for more racing on Friday.
FRIDAY
Friday Hard Knox Events:
The top 4 finishers from the Hard Knox A-Main will earn the 17-20 starting spots in Saturday's A Main. This is where the term making the A Main the Hard Knox way comes from. Friday's event will consist of split field qualifying, 6 heats, C Main, two B Main's and the Hard Knox 25 lap A Main. Friday ends with the Speed Sport Challenge.
*The Friday format may change if there are any weather related scheduling issues.
SPEED SPORT Challenge
This is an international invitational event. American drivers earned starting spots by competing in qualifying events in Australia the past winter. All foreign drivers from Australia, Canada, New Zealand and other countries that competed on Wednesday or Thursday are also eligible. The lineup is determined by points accrued on Wednesday and Thursday and inverted by 14. The winning driver in the Challenge is eligible for a 25th position in Saturday night's main event, if not already qualified
.
SATURDAY
5-hour Energy Knoxville Nationals presented by Casey's General Store Finals
Events:
10 lap E Main, 12 lap D Main, 15 lap C Main, 22 lap B Main, and the 50 lap 5-hour Energy Knoxville Nationals Championship A Main.
The B, C, D, and E Main will take the top four finishers to the tail of the next event (if there are scratches, there may be more taken for a particular event).

Where did you see Bell's name? Or have they not updated it on the K'ville site? Or did he withdraw his name? it would be awfully cool to see him run (obviously).

YATYAS seems to have printed out he format, it can be complicated, but its good. Friday used to be so-so, but semi-new format for Friday can be really good. Non qualifiers pretty much start all over & race like hell to get in. Every year I have to study format repeatedly, but it eventually seeps in.... then I forget it again

Thanks. Very interesting format. Guess you need to give people a second chance if they hauled it 2000 miles. so on Friday you may have 70 to 80 cars looking for 4 spots in the Saturday A main race? Is that correct?
Even though I may not know you, I
care what most of you think!

According to Knoxville's Twitter, Bell is entered to qualify tonight. He's not listed on the entry list on their website though. Might just be an oversight. Bell also commented on Twitter that he'll be there tonight and Saturday (Kyle Larson commented he's jealous CB will be able to race Saturday).
