Best I could do on short notice, I was taking a pic of the add-on air unit
This is typical of what Keith was doing at the time, this cage would a bit wider and taller than the one that went with your body

Lower left corner shows the steering mount that a box went on. Part of the fron spring perch and support is visible here. I can get better pics soon.
Wheel base was 100" ,
Engine setback(measured from the back of engine to center of front kingpins)-50"
rearend was 50" from centerline of rear axle to back of engine.

Typical rearends were what would interchange and including a 1950 MERCURY--4:11 RATIO
Trannys were usually the late '50s or early 60's Muncie 3 speeds. Powerglides work just fine too.

Looks like there is quite a lot of sanding to be done. I have only one picture which I believe is this car, it is in my1970 Lawton Speedway program. It doesn't show the whole car but has Ken Sweet standing beside the car. Did you get any information on Lyman Kidwell yet?

Lyman was indeed killed in a wreck on the way to Green Valley Raceway. The info I am needing to know is about the'41Willys coupe he made into a stock car to run at Lawton Speedway in the early 1960's. Any photos of this car or in fact any of Lyman or his cars would help. His gasser was a1951 Ford convertable with a Caddy engine. My locker pardner from Jr.High all the way through High School ended up with that old Willys Coupe.

Lloyd Ruby is not just a name, or the memory of a simple quiet spoken man who has done it all worth doing in the American version of this sport we call racing.
He is an institution, a trailblazer even in his physical absence. To remember him, his times, accomplishments, leads to remembering Hambone Harrell, Kenny Miles,Tony Bettenhausen, Bill Myers, Lindsey Hopkins. It also leads to talking about good times, and making new ones.
Looking around at the faces at the table, in the P-2 Club, his shop, Wichita Falls Racers Reunion etc, he often wondered(with humility you can count on) what would happen if he were no longer there to hold court. "Would it all just fade away into something else? Would all these friends go into their own directions and lose this common thread they so mant times sought refuge in from the outside world"? A name brought the people to the table, BUT THE PEOPLE IS WHAT IT WAS ALL ABOUT ALL ALONG.
Like a cowboy, the horses you rode only lasted a few years, the actual view from a mountaintop only lasted a few minutes. The memories aquired, the stories told, and the mix of personalities formed a small community within a community.
Common sense told the man there were not too many years left in the mason jar. He simply gave us a quiet unspoken message---

If anyone reads this, maybe you'll get a laugh at a little girl's point of view. My big sister couldn't say his name when she was tiny, so we called him Obie Doobie. He was so patient with us little ones. He used to give Daddy his racing slicks from his Indy cars. Daddy would score them and use them on the super-modifieds. Mr. Jones, the owner Daddy worked with after Mr. Malone, moved his family from Lubbock to Wichita Falls because he wanted to live where Obie Doobie did. When my mom died in 1988, he was an honorary pall bearer. I was indecently happy after her funeral because he remembered me. He has always been my hero, with Hambone coming right behind him. Mr. Jones' widow is still alive in W.F.
