Youre not very bright are you? Why would a team that continuosly wins just about every weekend locally, want to go up to Knoxville? Yeah they could possbily win but chances are alot slimmer than just staying locally and winning at the local tracks. Hell I would stay in Pennsylvania also. If my team is dominant locally then I'm staying locally and winning a championship maybe multiple. It would pretty much suck to drive all the way to Knoxville using alot of $$$ for fuel to get there ontop of wear and tear on the hauler, lodging expenses, food, and all the other expenses that comes with racing and then not make the show, get involved in a crash etc. When you can just stay locally and not lose your a$$. Come on use a little common sense.

Well $150,000 for starters, and also the pride and joy of winning the biggest sprint car race on the planet. I'd love to see them try because I think they would have a fighting chance but I'm sure they have valid reasons to stay home. This isn't a real high budget team for starters and then the age of Davey, Donnie's concussion issues. I'd bet anything Lance would love to go but I have no skin in the game so whatever schedule they choose is fine with me. I'm just glad this team still exists and is running well.

The most recent SC&M magazine mentions Donnie's issues with the concussions. There are some days he doesn't feel like racing (probably much of anything) and tells Lance they're not racing. Lance is cool with that.
It would be awesome if these guys went to Knoxville and I agree that Lance wouldn't turn it down, but we don't know everything in the 69K camp. Great team and what they've done in the past three years is awesome - and I don't cheer for them. Nothing but respect.

Sammy, DeWease and Shatz coming out of turn four side by side for the win at the Nationals. Now that's a dream team.

ALL ABOARD! As soon as any thread gets started about the 69K, two things happen. The Dream Team "Dreamers" jump on, and the Dream Ream "Bashers" jump on. The team spelled it out on a video broadcast in either 2016 or 2017 from the EMMR during an hour or so long discussion/interview. On the subject of the Knoxville Nationals, the only real reason they have chosen not to go is because they feel in order to have a real opportunity to have a shot at winning or doing really well, they would need to go to Knoxville at least three weeks in advance in order to get the proper track time to be ready. A lot can be read into that.......but no need for anybody to go there. That's how they think. As for me, yeah, like many I'd like to see them there. But I have a competitive nature. On the pool table I wasn't happy being the best in a small town, so I went looking for bigger game. Glad I did! It wasn't the money I made....it was the tournament trophies. I found out I wasn't just a big fish in a small pond. My younger brother and I both turned quite a few heads over the years, for sure. Players of our caliber weren't suppose to come from a rural area.

How many laps does macedo have at Knoxville this year? And he won tonight. How many laps does Dietrich get at Knoxville each year before the nationals?

So back to my original post.... who was the guy pushing T-shirts anyway?
Did you get a cut?
Probably no connection to the team either... just wishful thinking?

I think they have made their decision and we need to be cool with that. Out of respect for the team lets lock this thread when the total posts total 69 K?
Even though I may not know you, I
care what most of you think!

I think it is always in the back of their minds, but SO FAR, they have always decided not to go. Check out the Don Kreitz Open Red Podcast from about the past month. He talks about Knoxville at the 53 minute mark.
"If we start out next year and Lance says 'ya know what, lets just go to Knoxville one time... do you mind ?' er whatever you know.. I'm not saying we wouldn't go sometime in the future but we're definitely not going this year. "
Another great part of the interview is just after the 1 hour mark. Don mentioned the initial phone call when Lance was interested in driving the 69K. Don kept telling Lance that he didn't have very much equipment and only had one car and didn't have a spare this or a spare that. As if he were talking him out of it.
For me, the litmus test is Port Royal this fall. If they can beat the Outlaws, I'd love to see them race at Knoxville next year. Remember last year ?? oh so close...
