Does the fact he usually drives at 200 m.p.h. in his day job make it easier for Larson when only driving 115 m.p.h. in a sprint car? I realize it is two entirely different types of racing, but has the dirt "slowed down" for him now?

I'm sure both aid the other, but (and I believe Kyle commented on this recently, but cannot remember) that it's actually the opposite. Driving a sprint car on dirt typically has a shorten "reaction time" and takes a lot more effort, focus, stamina, etc. than driving 200mph on pavement around long tracks.
"Slowed down" (as in seeing/reacting/muscle memory/etc.) is a different argument alltogether. The best athletes in the world in whatever sport or discipline comment that when they're in the groove the game "slows down for them." That they cna see out their next move, etc.

Why does he need to have "enough" races to compare to the greats? Use your eyes. Judging by your posts on here, you've seen a ton of sprint car racing. Why isn't it enough to just watch someone and make the case that they are one of the best you've ever seen? I wouldn't just limit myself to numbers. You can simply qualify your statement with the fact that he has a smaller sample size than those who raced on the tour for years and years. Here's an example of a argument that someone could make in a few years and I don't think it's unreasonable in the least..... Personally, I would make this argument now.
"Kyle Larson is one of the best drivers that I have ever seen wheel a sprint car. Despite the fact that his NASCAR obligations kept him away much of the time, he was always a huge threat to win whenever his car pulled into the pits. He won't ever be up as high on the all time wins list as his talent should place him, but he is indeed one of the greats."

First off, I have not discounted his talent as not being "enough" to recognize him as one of the best. But the truth of the matter is, it always takes some longevity for anyone to be compared with those considered the greatest, and especially for it to become a given to consider, when a driver has had limited exposure and opportunities. Not only do the very best in auto racing history have big numbers when it comes to wins, they have also won the very biggest events and/or numerous titles that existed during their careers. Some of the very best and greatest didn't even have long careers to attain the recognition. But most do. That you choose to recognize him as one of the very best you've ever seen to wheel a sprint car is fine. We are after all, only sharing opinions. There are many drivers that have done similar things to what Kyle Larson has achieved thus far, and their names will never be mentioned in the same breath as the greats. Although, at the time there were those that predicted they would. Chances are very good that Larson will achieve that status. He does after all, have everything going for him that enables him to showcase his talent. Dominating PA Speedweek is something that the very best would be expected to do, in my opinion.

Sadly, I gots to agree with BRR, not sure if it's rust with Tyler but hopefully he gets it going, he's never been afraid not to go fast. As for how long it takes to be a star, I think the late, great BC showed us all in a short period of time just how good he was and was going to be even better wingwise with more experience. There are simply no words to describe what Kyle is doing right now and PA you are lucky to see it and your Promoters are even more lucky. He is a phenom, if there is such a word and is the real deal as far as expressions go, nobody can deny this now. Fast or slow track, heavy or dry-slick he is just better than you and he shows it nightly.....
