I've not missed many openwheel shows at eldora in the last 40 years. Yes it's still fast, but it just doesn't have the edge of your seat intensity it once had. If you were at the "million" and came back now you'd see. Everything about the place is nicer/better except the racetrack.

I am not a speed freak as long as the racing is good. Non-wing, short tracks, Late Models, Modified are all good by me. It wouldn't bother me.

I've only been once, to last year's 4 Crown, but was kind of disappointed that it wasn't crazy fast, like they say it used to be. Nothing against Tony or anyone else, thats just what I noticed

The first time I was there was previous to the trucks and I definitely noticed a pretty significant difference once they started having the NASCAR race. I understand that it's a big deal and they want to have the track right for them but I don't understand why the hell they can't just grade it to meet the criteria for the truck race then put it right back where it should be afterwards. It's a damn shame because Eldora used to be the track that really separated the men from the boys but now, it's becoming just another half mile.

The criticism baffles me. No one criticizes Knoxville for having a fast low groove.
The Usac race on Friday will go down as one of the best of the year. And don't tell me they're all that good because they're not.
The crowds there lately for sprints have been fantastic. This whole thread stinks of "back in my day" bias.

one race that is good on friday is nonwing which is always better then a woo show there cause they race all over the track... woo singlefile parade around the inside is not a fun thing to watch at a track like eldora
if you bought the cavaliers? would the first thing you do is fire lebron?
there is no back in the day you speak of...... its a criticism of messing up a good thing for what?
I feel that Tony fixed something that was not broke and the result is Eldora has lost its men from the boys legendary staus that it had for what?

Wow, color me surprised in that you actually have a source, albeit pretty much unsubstantiated by the article author.
And I don't need to look up anything further than reading the link - there's a very large difference between country and world, but what do I know?

100% agree... How dare people run the bottom of a track when the top isn't fast. Worst thing ever!!! lol Still a better show than 90% of the tracks in the country.

Well then I guess Ballou & others don't know what the hell they are talking about either.
Sure it looked fast Stan but just think if it was faster we might not of had the out come that we did with Philo & Haud. Seen a few lose thier life there & quite a few that probably thanked thier lucky stars that they lived to tell about. Eric Gordon, Kinser, Byron Reed are a couple that took some nasty lookin spills, Larson also.

Innocent mistake. F1 is off my radar if that's what youre referring to. NASCAR is still big even if we're going to split hairs.
|
Hey I'll take that response any day of the week man. Right on. Actually NASCAR is the top asphalt series in the US. I just happen to be a F1 nut. So that's where that reply came from. I just wish it was bigger in America. But the USGP at COTA has been a good start.

Is this the part where you try to add in that you were talking sprint car tracks only and highlight that Indy had Champ Cars race there eons ago? This must be that part.
The only proof you've provided is that you're a blithering dipshit, but if you want to keep at it, feel free.

Lots of hate going on here. I really enjoyed my first trip out there. As I've said before Friday was excellent in really both classes. Yes at the end Logan pulled away but he was super fast and smooth. Then Saturday was pretty dang fast. Couple tenths off the record and each race was won on the top. I wasn't blown away by the speed cause I think Knoxville probably still has more speed at the end of the straight but what I loved was watching them throw it in the corner like they could with the banking. What a sight.
One thing I did hear was someone saying someone from Donny's crew was trying to get a peak at Logan S. car after Friday night. Is this true or just complete garbage? I found it to be an interesting rumor but couldn't find much to back it up. I will say no cars handled the bottom line the Shark Racing cars.

When they get beat Bad, all the top teams wonder about the team that just beat them. When Dewaese beat the Outlaws in May, i remember reading about how Shane Stewart went over to check lances tire.

Correction, you're the only idiot here. Trying to make a valid case that the big E is the 2nd most popular race track in the world is ridiculous and he might try to leave the state of Ohio before you return to a keyboard. 60% of America has never even heard of that track. 90% of the world has never even heard of that track. Which are we talking about, the 2nd most popular sprinkler track or race track? By the way those are two separate words. Try going to Europe and preaching how popular the big E is. Or more realistically just try leaving your own state. You sir are an idiot, and we are all more dumb after reading your posts, have a good night and may God have mercy on your soul .
