Jesus blazer I thought you woud be excited,  did you see the payout for the shootout, exactly what you have been bitchin about for the last two years top heavy purses, plus this race was always scheduled for May 13th, the WoO has always been on the schedule for July 1st&2nd since day 1. The agreement was not to run against both nationals, the only thing Knoxville wasn't going to run against was the Gold Cup so actually nothing has changed is far as dates.

You're missing the point. Badlands had no schedule for 2017. Announced there wasn't going to be any racing in 2017. That's what prompted drivers to go ahead and plan their seasons. (and if you look at the 2016 season Knoxville didn't run against the Gold Cup then either so you make a mute point)

The question should be, with the bigger names that ran Husets last year already committing to Knoxville for this season, which of those will skip (2) points nights at Knoxville and fore-go Knoxville's point fund just to run these (2) Huset's specials? If Dobmeier, Kaeding, McCarl, Lynton Jeffreys (sp?) elect to run Knoxville those (2) nights, who will you have at Husets? I think that's a fair question.

Also, they just had Tom Savage on the 5:00 o'clock news stating that at this time, there is no buyer and they will continue searching for a buyer into the 2018 season if need be...z

Well, Dobmeier reportedly hasn't set a schedule yet and I've been told (yes, that is a dangerous way to start) that McCarl isn't going to run for points anywhere. He's going to pick and choose when he wants to run and where he wants to run, doesn't want to be tied down. Haven't heard anything about Kaeding/Lunstra or Lynton.

I seriously cannot imagine Dobmeier was planning on running for points at Knoxville in 2017.

So, someone says there is a buyer being announced tomorrow and immediately a schedule is announced because there is NO buyer?

Who is the only driver affected by Silver Shooutout against Eldora WoO? Maye Kerry Madsen who went to Eldora and did very well last year. Maybe the BWW 82?  As far as guys somewhat between those 2 tracks like Nienhiser and Balog I assume they will head west that weekend to the SS.

Anybody else find it curious that a sprint track in a sprint town scheduled FOUR late model shows? As a LM fan I'm not complaining just found it a bit odd...

I agree that there is NO buyer.  We'll probably be talking about this same subject at this time next year when the price of the speedway might come down to maybe $7 Million.

BTW, who says when a new buyer(s) eventually buys the track, that they will race 410's weekly.  Or will there even be weekly racing?

Maybe next Friday!

I wondered if I had missed the big announcement.   I figure Tony Stewart is buying it and renaming it Ford Performance Speedway.

Not dying at River City Speedway in Grand Forks,ND either,  the NOSA sprints (Northern Outlaw Sprintcar Assoc) averaged 29 Outlaw sprint cars every Friday nite for 2016 and 19 NLRA late models  (Northern LateModel Racing Association) each Friday night.  Big crowds every nite unless rain forecast then people traveling more than 35 or 40 miles or more stay home rather than risk the loss of gas money.

That just kills me racing isn't dead around the Midwest. The problem was the person that moved to town played the big dog.the guy that said Knoxville Knoxville who? And then hurt all racing around the Midwest. Then tucked tail and ran. He didn't have to close so they passed a law up there for payday loans, so what?many people own things and live someplace else? Just hire a GM to run it and check in and visit. Since he can't just screw you all ,he moved, all the people up there were so cocky or some on here now you got zip! Racing not dead you just got work together there's only so many teams and only a few travel. So to make it.all the tracks have to play nice! Only people that really got hurt was the fans last year. I gave the guy 3 years and he beat that my 2 years.
