It's impossible to get them all. Dusty Zomer, Davey Heskin, Don Droud Jr.

Sammy Swindell.
Luna's Ford engine style that won 2 WoO titles and 3
Kings Royals before a weight rule against the best EVER
in their prime and now DOMINATES super dirt late model
racing is no longer allowed/wanted in a WoO sprint
car.... Was Luna a miracle worker?

The list should go on and on. We just need to remember that they are all humans just like us and everybody has a bad day. I'm greatful to all the drivers for the job they do to entertain me and thousands of others. Probably on the national level Jac Haudenschild and Shane Stewart top my list and on the local level I definately have to go with Jim Moughan Jr. his nephew Joey Moughan and Jeremy Standridge. Thanks to all!!!

I can't say I've met very many drivers who have been less than nice when approached. Many of them even recognize me as someone they have talked to before, which really amazes me! Some of the friendliest in my experience include the Heskin family, Brook Tatnell, Craig Dollanski, Paul McMahon. Shoot, even slammin sammy was real friendly one night.

I'll vouch for Dave Darland and Tim Crawley, both real cool guys that I've gotten to know in recent years. Always friendly to talk to and have a beer with after the races.

At Knoxville, nearly all of the drivers 410, 360, and 305. As a pit reporter for radio, you get to know these drivers not only as drivers, but also on a personal level as well. As far as WoO for the most part they're all decent people. Jason Meyers, Cody Darrah and Brad Sweet are 3 that come to mind right away.

Away from the track, there is not a nicer driver than Fast Freddie Rahmer. That being said, don't try to bug him while he is "in his office" in the pits, which probably goes for 99% of all drivers. I have found that most of the drivers are very approachable after the races are over.

How has this thread gone on for so long without the mention of the Bixby Rockstar--SHANE STEWART. One of the most approachable drivers in racing.

Hockett, didnt matter how big of a race he would always answer questions or say hello with a smile
Tony Bruce is a close second.

My twelve year old son idolises (used to) Kasey Kahne. He had a chance to meet him in the pits after the races at Lakeside Speedway in Kansas City only to have Mr. Kahne walk away after my son said hello and asked if he could shake his hand while I his dad their picture. He was crushed. My son was not being rude or pushy he just wanted to meet his racing idol. I know these guys are busy and get tired of being hassled but the kid was 12 and did everything right. He waited until Mr. Kahne was finished talking with crew members and his driver Joey Saldona before asking. Thanks to Mr. Saldona for taking the 10 seconds to stand with my son for a picture, I know you weren't happy about something but you made a 12 year old very happy. That picture is framed in his room! Sorry for the rant but thought it fit well with this topic.

When I was a kid many years ago, 2 guys that stood out that treated me nice even though I hounded them on a weekly basis were Darryl Dawley and Bill Mellenberndt.

I have found over the years that the nice drivers out number the perhaps "not so nice" by probably 50 to 1 or more.
That being said, let's give a nod to Skip Jackson, a perennial fan favorite amongst both young and old at Knoxville.
