I heard 3500 people last night and tonight they have more than that pre sold. I was there and thought there was more than that.

3500 for a prelim show is pretty good. The 2nd night almost always gets a far superior crowd. To diehard sprint car fans last night probably stunk, to people who have no idea what it’s about, all the crashing was probably somewhat entertaining. Plus if you’re used to NASCAR, the rubber down follow the leader probably was what they expected.

Hopefully tonight is a lot better.

It was a quarter mile. There was as much passing as many races I have attended. It wasn't dusty. There was a good crowd.
Many races I have been to in recent times you have to stop at a gas stop and take a bath in the bathroom. It was a straight sprint car show, I can't remember the last time I saw that. They ran it right off. I couldn't complain.

The hard charger was Macedo going from 23 to 18. That's just lame. Inside the top twenty I would bet nobody moved more than three places the entire race.

Interesting reading this thread.   On one side, worst race ever.   On the other side, exciting race with a buzz in the stands for a series at a new venue.

One thing that watching online will not give you is the buzz of the crowd and energy on the midway.   It sounds from that point of view it was a success.   We all want the sport to grow, but yet we love to thow stones at it.

It had the same feel as a night race at DuQuoin or a fair track. I would say it was pretty full. There was as much passing as any other quarter mile race. Actually I expected the the trrack to come up and be real rutty due to hauling in dirt. It wasn't at all. Really was a rubber laden dry slick. Reminded me of the afternoon fair shows you used to see. The crowd thought it was great Tony Stewart was there. People next to me cheering on Kevin Thomas. Like I said people had a good time.

I have been to many tracks the same size that are dust bowls and very follow the leader,  You had to use some strategy to win and the winner did,

The strategy was to hug the inside the entire race and wait for the guy in front of you to make a mistake and drift up too far. Balog did that twice and both Schatz and Sweet took him on the inside of the front stretch. I can't say they ran well. It felt more like Balog screwed up twice. However, I guess it's fair to say they were both ready to pounce on the opportunity when it became available.

I don't like whiners, so I don't want to come off as whiny. I've been watching every race on dirtvision for the past three seasons now. I love watching winged sprint cars. I hit Skagit as much as I can to support my local track. But the past two shows have been awful. The rubbered down blown tire fest followed by the embarrassment at Nashville last night. I would expect more of the same tonight. That said, I don't see it as a trend. There are going to be many awesome shows through the rest of the year. Just calling it like I see it. Last night was a farce. I was hopeful when I started watching hot laps, but also fearful that the track looked too small and too flat for a quality outlaw show. Turns out the later was what I saw. Maybe it improves tonight, but I have serious doubts due to the limitations of that track.

Serously, how can any promoter feel good about that when all the quickest times are guys that purposefully hitt the guard rail in turn 4 with their right rear tire?

How about suggesting improvements? That track needs to be wider with a higher bank in the turns. These are the pros. The best of the best. I'm a paying customer on a weekly basis. If you're telling me I don't have permission to speak up when I'm disatisfied with the product you're out of line.

Give some gruel to those starving and see what happens. Of course they will apprciate crappy food if they're starving. Just don't insult the rest of us by calling it filet mignon. It was what it was. It could be better. Lots better.

Not sure how it played on Dirtvision, but the Lawrenceburg show in between Charlotte tire race and the race last night was one of the best I've seen in a few years.

That track was prepared perfectly.  Lawrenceburg is the way a track should from the start of the feature until the end and that produced great racing!

They may be limited in how much banking they can have considering the outside retaining wall will shrink with more banking.

If someone can tell more about why and the advantage to hitting the wall with a tire during qualifying please share.

Lawrenceburg looked like a beautiful track in dirtvision.

Even though I may not know you, I

That track reminded me of years ago when Heartland Park Topeka built a Dirt Track on the Drag strip. So why couldn't we put the dirt on the big track ? Obviously I know nothing because thats what I thought they were doing?

A total shit show in Nashville and a cow pasture at Mansfield. Meanwhile, I saw an excellent night of racing on a perfectly prepared track surface where there was a battle for the lead during the entire 25 laps that ended in a last lap pass and damn near photo finish at everyone's favorite whipping boy,  good old Williams Grove Speedway. Guess the porch isn't such a bad place after all?

And you say you're not a Posse cheerleader? Good for you that you saw a great race. The "cow pasture" is also paying 100k to win tonight. What are your tracks paying tonight, and when do they ever pay nearly that much? It also drew 2 or your best cars. I'll put the "cow pasture" above any of your facilities, even the great "Speed Palace".

It looked to me the curvature of the fence came in a little in turn 4, where the cars entered in track from turn four of the big track. It seemed the cushion developed  and some kept running on the cushion and didn't turn in a little. Seemed the wall there moved some, but if it was hit too hard would snag the right rear.
As I said earlier it reminded me of the real dry slick fairground racing, in those days they would bounce off the wall also when the cushion moves up that high. Dirt Champ cars do it when the cushion move out to the wall.
The track was a temporary track and not Perris or Knoxville. I would suspect they learned a lot.
I was at the first race at I-70 outside Kansas City when they put dirt on it, this track for it's size seemed to hold together better than I-70 did.

Late pills getting the very short end of the stick tonight. Nothing left.

Calm down dude. I was just having a little fun. I don't cheerlead for anyone. I call it like I see it. I wish our tracks had a show of that caliber but we never will without the WoO being involved. Hope things are better tonight

Pictures show a legitimately large crowd tonight at Nashville. Hopefully the show is entertaining and new fans are made.

Sorry, I was hungry when I typed that - just needed a Snickers! Didn't mean to come across so short.

Isn't the Tusky at Port an All Star sanction with 50k?

Looks like the 69k has mechanical problems and had to go home early. I'd love to see Ryan Smith and the Heffner team win the big$ tonight. He's won here before. Hard to pick against A-Aron though.

Again, sorry buddy.

It's all good my friend. I think the weather has us all a little grouchy. I type this as I sit at Lincoln watching lightning flash in the distance lol. We have some very nice big races around here but the unsanctioned 100K stands on its own. We have nothing of that caliber. I sincerely hope this show can overcome the issues they're having this year and grow bigger and better. Sprint car racing needs races like this. Looks like they rained out again tonight. Tough deal.

We can only hope. I applaud the WoO for trying this deal in a relatively untapped market. If it can be successful, it will no doubt give the sport a little shot in the arm. I think they just need to improve the track layout/surface if possible to put on a better show.
