A couple things here.

First, why do people bitch about it?  Because of all the bragging and carrying on by all of the fans that this is the best team in the country.  If so, they should have no problem running out to Knoxville for a quick 150K payday.

Speaking of paying the bills, I know for a fact that many have come on and said they would be more than happy to fund the trip for them, so you can eliminate that also.

2 years ago, this team made a statement saying that they would love to go to Knoxville, but with the short notice, expense and other things, they wouldn't be able to make it.  Did I mention this was 2 years ago?  If they havn't found a way to put this trip together in the past 2 years, it tells us that they probably really don't want to go, and more than that, are avoiding it.

They have had many great accomplishments the past couple years.  In the state of PA that is.  The fans want to see how they stack up against the rest of the country on the National spotlight stage.  Otherwise, the term "dream team" pretty much stays local.

Good luck with your bowling.

I don't think anybody here has called them "the best team in the country". Maybe the best in Pa. They're a damn good team of old guys, & we like 'em. Find a quote to prove me wrong.... Nor has anyone offered to "fund the trip" . Maybe offered to chip in.... once again, feel free to prove me wrong, if you can find a post like that....

I have been self employed most of my life and this thread reminds of time that I was asked; Why didn't you do that the way someone else did it? My answer was, because I am the Boss and I have worked hard enough for long enough to have earned the right to do it as I damned well please. I am not a fan of the driver of this team but I suspect that they all feel the same way I do.

Nobody is telling them what to do....we're just fans & would like to see them give it a shot..... jeez...

You have not, several in this thread seem to feel as though they should tell them what to do.

Lance has raced Nationals before, best finish 8th, worst, 19th. Nobody's saying he's a favorite, just that he would have a chance. Who would have predicted Jason Johnson or Tim Schaffer to win?

We all know that Davey is getting on in years, & according to recent SC&M article, Donny still has repercussions from his many concussions (oooh, 2 syllable rhyme...) I'm sure Lance would go, given the opportunity. In his webpage it says for "goals": "To win the Knoxville Nationals and become the first 4-time winner of the Williams Grove National Open"

OF COURSE its up to them.... we're just fans hoping for more

If he stays home (looks like the case), he can still beat the Outlaws at National Open....

I'd bet anything that Lance would love to run the nationals in the 69k since winning that race has always been a lifetime goal of his. I know he was really bummed the year he had a half a track lead in his prelim feature and blew a tire - destroying the car. He was in the Postupak 25. Fred ended up passing Kinser and winning that night. I'd love to see them give it a go but I'm also happy just to see LD back in a good car and winning again. He struggled a lot of years in several different rides before the 69k.

Agreed. I've only been following sprint cars for 9 years, my first "big" race was the year Sammy won WG National Open, with Lance hot on his tail. He was a dominant force for a while longer but then had some mediocre years. GREAT to see him kicking ass again!

Just went to Lance website.   For this season goals it says “win the Knoxville nationals and be the first

4 time grove national open champion.”

Pretty sure that’s a really old quote because Schatz is a 5 time National Open champ.

I thought this was about the dream team that is actually going to be at Knoxville. But, then I see it's about a local dream team in Pa.

The so called "Dream-team" isn't going anywhere.  They would be exposed if they showed up at Knoxville.  Their cars and motors are designed for basically one track.  They went to Mansfield and got schooled.  This so called dream team has every exscuse in the book being used by their fans and loyal followers.  Davey is too old, it wasn't ever on the schedule, it is too far to travel, yadda, yadda, yadda.  Plus, it makes for great fodder to try and say where they would have finised if they would have shown up.  Sorry folks, ain't ever gonna happen and you can take that tot he bank.

Youre not very bright are you? Why would a team that continuosly wins just about every weekend locally, want to go up to Knoxville? Yeah they could possbily win but chances are alot slimmer than just staying locally and winning at the local tracks. Hell I would stay in Pennsylvania also.  If my team is dominant locally then I'm staying locally and winning a championship maybe multiple. It would pretty much suck to drive all the way to Knoxville using alot of $$$ for fuel to get there ontop of wear and tear on the hauler, lodging expenses, food, and all the other expenses that comes with racing and then not make the show, get involved in a crash etc. When you can just stay locally and not lose your a$$.  Come on use a little common sense.

If they would  win another championship in Pa. Does anyone really care. You're only as good as your competition and this coming week Knoxville has the best cars and the best drivers. Guaranteed that the casual fan outside of Pa. Really doesn't even know who the "dream team" you're referring to even is.

To be the best you have to beat the best.

The giganitc flaw in that theory is the belief that the team cares what people on this message board think. This board always amazes me by how many posters want to spend other people's money or how many posters on here believe that teams should base their schedule on trying to impress Hoseheads posters.

The crew chief has been racing for 65 years, the car owner for 40 and the driver for 33. It is a pretty safe bet that impressing randoms on the Internet is pretty far down on the list when they decide what races to attend.

Casual fans aren’t going to know a lot of things. To say that a lot of fans aren’t going to know a team that has 3 HoF’ers is a little suspect. Those three have beat the best and have done it for decades.

ALL ABOARD! As soon as any thread gets started about the 69K, two things happen. The Dream Team "Dreamers" jump on, and the Dream Ream "Bashers" jump on. The team spelled it out on a video broadcast in either 2016 or 2017 from the EMMR during an hour or so long discussion/interview. On the subject of the Knoxville Nationals, the only real reason they have chosen not to go is because they feel in order to have a real opportunity to have a shot at winning or doing really well, they would need to go to Knoxville at least three weeks in advance in order to get the proper track time to be ready. A lot can be read into that.......but no need for anybody to go there. That's how they think. As for me, yeah, like many I'd like to see them there. But I have a competitive nature. On the pool table I wasn't happy being the best in a small town, so I went looking for bigger game. Glad I did! It wasn't the money I made....it was the tournament trophies. I found out I wasn't just a big fish in a small pond. My younger brother and I both turned quite a few heads over the years, for sure. Players of our caliber weren't suppose to come from a rural area.

Dream.....excuse......dream......excuse......dream.......excuse.......Dream Team is right for some of you. Get over it they aren't going to Knoxville. They are the top team in Posse land......that's it.  Won every big race???? Yeh in Posse land. Best winning percentage in the country? Maybe....against who? Dobmiere does pretty good picking cherrys at home too, these days. I understand the importance of Davey Brown Sr and in my opinion he's the catalyst of the team.....not Lance.....and not Donnie. I don't think Lance carries the car, I think the car carries Lance. Davey's achievements far outweigh anything those other two ever did. Davey has won all over the country, in a very very big way, lest you forget. I'd think a top ten performance would be the best they could do at the Nationals. Which would still be damn good! Throw in a top eight on their qualifying night and a top eight on Friday night to make the show and they earn from $20,000 to $25,000 for the week. But........

I assume this is just the usual troling. I don't thnk Dewease would win the Nationals (or even finish top five), but come on. Dobmeier dominating at River Cities is not central Pennsylvania. When you post stuff like that, you look like you don't know what you are talking about.

I didn't compare River Cities to PA...........In fact, I think the 69K would do better than Dobmiere at the Nationals.

As mentioned before, Lance lists winning Knoxville as one of his 2 main goals

You make it sound like a waste of time.... what if they won???? Earth shaking event, at least in the world of sprint cars....Posse fans would go NUTS on this board!!!!

But it certainly looks like its not happening. None of them are getting any younger.... strike while the iron is hot, says I !

You're right. He's never going to have a better chance than he has right now, unfortunatetly. As for goals, they don't just happen, you make them happen. And the first step is participation. Again, I know none of the boasting and predicting is coming from the team, it's coming from a select number of fans. And by a tremendous majority he has extremely intellegent fans with lots of racing knowledge. And they are proud. But there are a few that just may take the pride a bit too far........There are some rude responses to those folks too when there shouldn't be. I'm one of the first to celebrate the success of the "older" guys. I R 1 as they say.  Smile
