I got there around 5:10and the line was pretty long.  I stood in line and drank a beer while waiting. Five, maybe six minutes later I was in the gate with my wristband and an empty beer can.

I didn't read the entire thread, but to everyone complaining about the ticket lines. I don't think the issue was the amount of ticket booths, just about every track in the state has just two booths (some have less). The issue was the amount of fans. This was a huge turnout that they probably were not totally prepared for. I expected a big crowd but this one was pretty close to an Outlaw show or something. That is a testament to what the ASCOC has become in just a few years under Tony Stewart. With that said, had I known what the track conditions would be like, and how late the show would run, and that Lincoln would still get a good field of cars I probably would have stayed home and driven 15 minutes to Lincoln. Either way I wasn't disappointed and Port Royal is still the undisputed nicest facility in the state. No matter what, I'm glad we have so many fans that support racing in Central PA. Another big weekend for me Trail Way>Lincoln>Selinsgrove this week. Looking forward to it!

W2....funny you are getting more into sprint cars and I am going the other way toward the Dirt Late Models. Knocking off a life bucket list item and seeing Scott Bloomquist race in person for the the first time this weekend with the LOLMS races @ Hagerstown & Port Royal. I did go to Williams Grove last weekend for the All Stars.

It's funny how that works. I initially gravitated toward Late Models after moving to dirt country from New England (asphalt country) because Dirt Late Models looked more like Asphalt Late Models which was what i was used to. After moving to Central PA and giving Sprints a chance I have a hard time sitting through a DLM race anymore! lol. Really the big change occured when I started helping out a DLM team and saw all the expenses and how small the purse was (and how compliacated the cars are), I started looking into Sprints and its crazy how much more affordable it is when you factor in the payout. Plus for someone like me who barely knew which of a screwdriver to hold when I started out Sprints seem a lot more simple to me (aside from the injection, that is still a mystery to me). I bought myself a Racesaver car last Fall so I need to start learning fast though!

Thanks,
Jeff.

If you weren't there, then your opinion on the track and racing is useless. Try to bullshit people someplace else.

I was getting updates on the computer and saw the lap times.  Then I watched the slip And slide on YouTube......I mean the feature.  The cars were running 19 second laps in that boring feature.  Once again not one driver making me think I wish I was there.  Very hard, black, and dry = boring racing.   Not the drivers fault it is because the don't know how to prepare that track.

Let's go Sprint Car Racing!

Knoxville - Best Track In the USA!
Eldora - 2nd Best Track in the USA!

What did I tell you last year?

If you want to post about track conditions/racing at Port Royal, ask yourself one question, "Was I there?" If the answer is "no", then don't comment.

I find it funny how you don't like it,  but still find time to follow on the computer and watch YouTube clips....

If you knew him from another message board that had a general discussion section you would know that the answer to your question is yes, he argues about everything.
