Somebody clue me in please. When I look at Google maps, I see a paved track. Do they put on dirt for this race?

Should have also added that they ripped up the asphalt and put new dirt down. It wasn't just dirt on top of asphalt.

This is exactly the point I was trying to make earlier... Mansfield put on a $15k-to-win show on the same weekend of Knoxville Nationals and still pulled 60+ cars. Yes the event was a shit show and they would've been better off running 410s only that night... but no one was expecting 130 total cars. That being said, if they were able to pull 60 cars last year for $15k, I would expect them to easily beat that for th SCWC. I would hope they learned alot about their own facilities and track prep last year. Im not going to write them off because they struggled their first season back on dirt. If the 5-day forcast is sunny and 55 degrees prior to April 28th I would expect entires coming out of the wood work.

I can almost guarantee you that there will be a solid car count. Past couple of days they keep filing in. Sprint Speedweek around here pulls in 50+ cars on many nights for a $5000 to win show so I am sure the quantity as well as quality will be there. I think some people see 100k to race and expect to see a lineup like you would at the Knoxville Nationals, Kings Royal, or National Open but that is subjective to who you are. Personally I have no problem with not having the Outlaws there and I am an Outlaw supporter. I think the drivers that will be there will be worth the price of admission.

The reason I am not overly excited about the event as I would be for other events are because of the unknowns. Has a format been posted for this event? I am not as confident as I would be about the race track providing a surface for them to race on based on what I have seen and heard. I am not overly confident that the program will run efficently. I hope that everything is a success but honestly, I am probably going to watch the weather and if it is iffy I may not go and save my money for other events. And I have doubts that they will make enough money to be able to put this on year after year. I hope I am wrong with that though.

For the sake of those who want to see a high car count I hope you're right. My guess is 40-50. The big purse does not garauntee a big car count and in some cases has the opposite affect.

Yeah the show during the nationals was the 1 I was thinking of. I thought it was a postponed show that was scheduled in the spring but I may be wrong. You're right about bigger purses(bigger names) scaring some teams off. 40-50 with more stronger cars would be a better show anyway IMO. I think they will get 60 if not 70 though, given the payout through the field and the general good health of OH 410's. From what was reported last year, they need to learn how to run a more efficient show. Hopefully that lesson was learned. I gotta give the track an A+ for effort though. I love me a big paying non-WOO event. I don't travel much anymore but I might have to take a couple vacation days and head out to this 1.

If I lived in the area, I'd give it a shot... what do you have to lose? If it sucks, you can go home

Rico, DeWease, Bayston & Zearfoss? Unless track conditions are miserable & show is run poorly, thats a great start already

That likely what I'll do. If the weather is good I'll hop on my bike & ride up as it's only about 2.5 hrs away.

No, they are trickling out a few each day, similar to what they did for the Indy Invitational if I remember back a few years.

Other than compiling confirmations from team/driver social media pages and postings from Mansfield... Was there some other announcement of this list?

Nvm I see this announcement was made on twitter.

The T-MAC Motorsports SnowPlow.com #24 has added this event to our schedule April 27th & 28th. Should be an amazing event with a GREAT payout!!

We haven't ran in Ohio much in the last 5-6 years and we are looking forward to seeing our Ohio fans again! Plans at this time are to have our t-shirt trailer there too for Terry, Austin & Carson McCarl Merchandise.

3 variables, right? Car count, track conditions, weather

I wouldn't worry about car count at this point....

Hope it works out!

Wait a second...did the Mansfield track owners just fall off a turnip truck and think the world around them would stop racing so they can take a chance on April weather in Ohio?

Or is it just a few people posting that think a top heavy payout at Mansfield is somehow magically going to pull a rabbit out of its hat for some reason that doesn't even work at the kings royal?

Be glad Ohio is hosting a nice payout that an Ohio car should win and help fund their season.

I cant make it buy I hope the track holds up and nobody gets hurt.

That's a loser mentality, always thinking about just making the show, staring at the B-main payout. Never thinking about winning it all, the glory, the prestige, 100 grand, the trophy, the trophy girls, the women.

C'mon. I thought PA was better than that.

BRR's comments make sense. The sport costs a lot of money and there's a lot of games and money politics involved. Why not take your example to the extreme? $150,000 to win, the glory, the prestige, the trophy, the trophy girls, the women, the unlimited supply of marshmallow peeps. Second place on back would get $0. B-main racers would get $0. Non-qualifiers would get $0 tow money. Is that a winner mentality?
