I Don't mind the drivers getting up on the top wing to Celebrate, but For God's Sake Take off your Driver's helmet So WE CAN SEE YOU CELEBRATING Smile If I had MY WAY the Feature winners would all be taking the checkered flag around the track for a victory Lap like THE GOOD OLE DAYS Smile

"If I had MY WAY the Feature winners would all be taking the checkered flag around the track for a victory Lap like THE GOOD OLE DAYS"..........I like that idea

But I've often been accused of being stuck in the '60s.... wink

I'm much much sicker of nascar drivers celebrating victories by doing a big, stupid  burnout (1/2 the time intentionally blowing both  rear tires and ripping half of the rear body off the car before it goes through tech) than I am of drivers jumping up on the wing.

I brought this up about Gravel in May. Come on Hosers have a little fun instead of shitting in you own Wheaties every morning, eating them, and then get pissed at everyone else.

My post from May below,

Did he dab again?

If he can get away with dabbing still, I'd also like to see The Dougie, Stanky Leg, Lean Back, ChaCha Slide, Running Man, The Urkel, Boot Scootin' Boogie, Macarena, The Hustle, Watusi, Mashed Potato, Hand Jive, Rumba, Foxtrot, The Charleston, Slow Drag, and the Cakewalk.

Anyway congrats to the #5!

To the OP, what would you rather see the driver do in lew of them standing on the wing? < Legit question!

Why would you...

The original poster, and any assbag agreeing with him, is a waste of good oxygen.

You'd think that if a driver got booed in the winner's circle,  mooning the audience would be appropriate.

Apparently you don't pay attention, they completely acknowledged that they got from the WOO paying tribute to their fans, did not at all act like they came up with it.

yeah you are correct! my eyelids were lifting and having Kyles name mentioned so many times, i just couldn't help my petty self, force of habit jajajajajajaja

A great NFL coach once said about touchdown celebrations "act like you been there before" kinda fitting here also

Did I read somewhere that the WoO instructs the driver to climb up because it makes a good photo op?    It was cool at first,  but when it becomes part of the "hat dance" then it turns into ho-hum.

I agree that it has become cliche and not really anything special anymore.    It's kind of like the burnout in NASCAR  (sprint car or midget donuts are still cool).  If you want to show me that you are excited,  celebreate in some unique way.   Do a back flip,  climb the fence, get the car spinning like a top with the steering wheel hanging out the side,  etc.

If so we now know why Steve retired

I can't even believe this post is even being debated, If the driver wins the race he can climb a wing, stand on a tire, climb the fence, kiss a trophy girl or celebrate how ever he sees fit for himself. Petty bull shit is all this post is.

Wrong.  Celebrating a touchdown would be like the driver doing a wing dance every time he passed a car or held the lead through the corner.  The driver does the wing dance at the END of the race----after he (or she) has won.  Much like the players celebrate after EVERY game they win.  If there was no passion it would be pretty dull.  I am not a fan of classless celebrations mid-game---especially when the team is losing.  Wing dances?  I prefer the drivers are excited and think a win is a big deal because it is!

This entire argument is just dumb.   If I hated wing dances, I would high-tail it out of the stands before I had to watch it.  It is a free country.
