.... and everybody whose phone number doesn't begin with 717 could ultimately give two shits if he finishes first or last these next few days. When Dewease or Hodnett can come out to Eldora this September and win USAC features in a midget, sprint car, and Silver Crown car in one night - I'll be impressed.
|
So the purpose of this thread was a pole asking how he will do... You are commenting on the thread yet nobody cares if he finishes first or last? That doesn't make much sense.

That would be zero. In fact, I'd go so far as to say that the Ohio/All Star guys record on PA soil over the past decade is better than our guys record out in Ohio. Remember when Cold Duncan towed into Lincoln and held off no less than Brian Montieth to get the win? Duncan also had a win at Path Valley. Remember when Kemenah came in to run the 35 for Speedweek and took 2 wins plus dropped out while leading at the Grove? Kemenah & Blaney have some All Star wins over the past few years in PA plus wins in unsanctioned win at Path Valley & Port Royal respectively. They're a tough group of racers.

I am a big Posse fan.....that being said, it would not surpise me one bit if Kyle gets a win....or two.
|
I live in Posse Country 20 min from Lincoln, 20 from WG and 10 from Susky, I root for Pa drivers against the "Outsiders" when the come here. But I really don't care where the winner comes from as long as its a decent race. If Larsen or Rico come in and win Speedweek so what, just means they had it figured out. I get so tired of the chest beating Posse die hards, they give us PA fans a bad name.

We have a wide spread in opinions here, from "no top 5s" to "might sweep"
I'm hoping for intense competition between Kyle & Posse stars, let the best man (team) win!
How bout Kyle dueling Hodnett one nite, DeWease the next & DD the next?
I'm planning on Path, Lincoln & Grandview, then on to Eastern part of Indiana Sprint Week, Gas City, Kokomo, & Lawrenceburg. With a break at my friend's farm & bass pond in Ohio.. Should be awesome, weather, state troopers & Ford Focus permitting.... (Jinx disclaimer.... I didn't say anything!)

Yo rev that sounds like a real nice little racing + farm/fishing vaca! Awesome, have fun.
I was going to make a joke that your biggest worry might the Ford Focus, but man those staties in OH can get you good I'd still worry about the Focus most

Back in 1978 I was hitchiking from New Orleans to Connecticut.... Ohio troopers told me I couldn't hitch on Interstate. I asked about back roads... they said you couldn't hitch in Ohio, period. I asked "what am I supposed to do?" He said "Get a job & buy a bus ticket"
Needless to say I kept hitching, & The Road Gods sent me a ride pretty quick. The guy was headed to Pennsyltucky, playing polka tapes on his 8 tracks.... I was like "Ah, East Coast". I was so relieved I left my damn pack in his car....
Focus has been berry berry good to me. so far....

if winning a race on Posse Soil is less important than sweeping up USAC at Eldora...where are the "taking on Usac" shirts?
or "parts unknown" / WoO for that matter?
|
Rankings:
1.) Posse
2.) Outlaws
3.) USAC
4.) Parts Unknown
5.) All Stars
Kind of like guys making millions racing stock cars keep hiring Lee Stauffer to try to win a grassroots sprint car race on hallow PA ground.
They don't even know how to spell sprint car
much less chromoly...http://www.ycmco.com

Regardless of who wins what where, it looks like you have a hell of a fun trip in the works. As always, I hope you have a good time and safe travels my friend.

He knows the half soused posse rabble will lap them up like milk out of a cat bowl.
|
Half soused?? I was fully soused at the Grove last night. Between the rain shower and various other stoppages, it was a long night. I'm happy to report that none of my beers were thrown at anyone.... that would be a precious waste of resources.

God do I hope Kyle, Rico or anyone who does not race weekly in PA wins all the races. I can appreciate the passion for the local racers. But, Jesus Christ some of you on here need a life. I would love nothing more than to have Danny Dietrich sound off on some of you assholes the next time he wins at one of your tracks. At least he leaves the porch and LIKES to race at other tracks. His comments on Waynesfield alone should open some of your eyes. But, no. You'd rather watch the same 5 cars be fast at Williams Grove every week. Doesnt that get boring?

Spot on beero. For what it's worth, my previous post was not meant as a knock to DD, but to point out how tough Ohio speeders was.
DD will get his fair share this week and I appreciate the fact that he gets our and races elsewhere.

Ascot was the greatest of all time..
West Capital wasn't half bad either..
Life is good...

We have a lot of great fans here. Like MSPN said, we have the best and we have the worst. Most of us get it. A small, ableit loud and vocal minority, simply doesn't. In their world if it ain't Lincoln, Port or Williams Grove, it ain't worth shit. I actually feel sorry for them in some ways.

Cool thing was that driving West on I-84, just after crossing Delaware River into Pa., THERE WAS A BEAR running across the road! Haven't seen a live bear in the wild since spending most of a summer in Alaska, 1994 (saw a dead one in the hills South of Wilkes Barre on I-81 a few years ago) No wonder they call it Pennsyltucky....easy drive too, no traffic problems in usual choke points of Danbury Ct., Scranton/ Wilkes Barre & Harrisburg. Got to Path Valley area in time for a swim at Cowan's Gap SP too.
But now I have to think again... saw Brad Doty & he reminded me about his WoO race Tuesday at Attica. Should I skip Grandview & see that one on my way to Indiana? I liked that track earlier this spring on my drive East, very racy....
Only bummer (major) was serious injury to that guy in 600 race.... any news?

FWIW it was reported Kyle sold $13,000 in merchandise last night at Path Valley......love him or hate him people showed up to buy some merch. He confirmed that number (sort of) on Twitter and said it's more than he's sold in Nascar merch all year !
