There's NO buyers. It kills me how many "new" posters come on here backing CB. One would think CB is paying someone to "stick up" for him. I HOPE racing does take place out there this year, but if you think for a second that just because "ANY" series has a race on a schedule, that it means that date still exists, you my friend do NOT pay attention to "series" racing. I've known listed events that were cancelled to be left on a series website up to weeks before they actually were to take place. It's laugable as well as the trolls who keep coming on here posting this "announcement" BS. LMAO

I'm not "backing" Chuck Brennan. Ive never met him and Ive never been to Husets. What I brought up, in the context of playing devils advocate, is the fact that he was paying ridiculous, completely unheard of purses in a time where lots if tracks are reducing their purses. There are lots of pavement tracks running late models weekly which requires each team buying 4 new tires every week to even think about being competetive that are paying less to win than he payed for street stock (he paid 1000$ to win for ss). He invested a ton of money in the sport we all love and was paying minimum  $5000 to win and around $1000 to start for his weekly 410 show, by far the best weekly purses in short track racing and all you guys did was complain and say how horrible he was as a person and how he shouldn't be involved in racing, etc, blah blah blah. Well, I have great news. You got your wish. He got sick of the bullshit and now he's not going to be involved in racing anymore. Now you can go back to complaining about your weekly shows that only pay 1500$ to win and $250 to start. I guess someone always has to be the hero and someone always has to be the villian. Obviously he's your villian. Have fun with that. Like I said in my earlier post, making a point using actual logic doesn't work in some arguments. Obviously this is one of those arguments.

I don't think he necessarily got sick of the bullshit but rather found out that the economics of his show didn't work out. Obviously the track wasn't sustainable enough on its own paying the exorbitant purses with the gate it was taking in.

Does that fit your need for logic?

Lol I don't need logic, all I was saying is it's impossible to be logical with some people. Just because I may have a different opinion doesn't mean that I'm a troll or being "paid by CB to stick up for him". You make a valid point but I'm sure that people hating him no matter what he did didn't help him want to stick with what he was trying to do. Regardless it's unfortunate because everyone I know would love the opportunity to race for money like that on a weekly basis

I think we all need to concentrate our hate on the terrible article.  47 210 sprints was a SD record!  It all makes sense now.  Chuck was right about the 410 HP horsepower sprint car all along!  Good lord..  Am I doing it right?

There is a long history at stake here. Maybe not the same sort of history as say Williams Grove, or Knoxville, but a hell of a history just the same. Three and four generations of fans have enjoyed the racing on that tight little track we knew as Huset's, for 60+ years. I hope like hell the past year and the coming months become just a bump in that long history.

Beat me to it!  Funny how this info keeps popping up, but nothing ever comes of it.  I'd say if there were a hope of a sale, the current owner wouldn't announce any schedule at this point.

I'm pulling this one back, seems Rob was in on this article and he's a damn good  journalist.  Honest mistake, so again I take it back...

A condensed schedule has been announced by Badlands. According to this press release, these dates will definitely happen, but they are still looking for a buyer to run the track full-time.

Believe it when I see it. Yet another over the top WWE announcement.

Great pay a ton of money to the best sprinters in the country on a date played against Eldora's 2-Day WOO Show.

The lack of common sense never ceases to amaze me. Smh and rme.

Boy Howdy!

Makes perfect sense, run the events from last year that made some money. The WoO show around July 4th has got to be lucrative.

$100k for a sprint show is still top 10 in the country for purses, I hope there is support there for that May 13 show.

Going off of Tom Savage's quotes in the Argus Leader, I'd lean toward it not being sold.

If they are in negotiations with a buyer or it has already been sold I think the quotes would have been more in the vein of" "I can't currently comment on that" or "that is speculation at this point".

I am happy for the fans in the area and the racers that there will be some events, but unless the locals have a place to run weekly somewhere else, car counts will be tough to come by (for the hobby stocks and fender classes especially) for these events.

I have no doubt the Silver Shootout and WoO event will have good car counts.  Too much $$ on the line for guys to skip.

I doubt that anyone is close to buying the track either.

Nice to see Brennan schedule some specials this summer, even though I think the 2 stock car nights will not draw much fan support, but will probably have around 100 cars for both shows.

It would be nice to reschedule the Silver shootout to Sunday - May 28 (Memorial Day weekend) so that some of the Knoxville regulars can come. As for the July 1 WoO race @ Husets/Badlands, probably not many cars with Knoxville & NOSA racing that night.

No, but I do not expect you to understand. I've read plenty of your posts on Huset's/BMS and let's just say, there is no ocean front property to buy in New Jersey. lol

I do NOT give two sh*ts on what series you are talking about. #1) There are only so many cars who travel to specials(Add that now there are no weekly guys to relie on)

#2) Like it or not, the BEST drivers are the one's with the $ and they are the one's who travel and actually bring people to the track.

So when you book a big money event, you do NOT book it against a date that happens to have the top talent from your series already there.

And currently 410 sprints is probably the class least able to afford to split up all the talent.

You add that since they're only racing 5 events........The Silver could be scheduled when there IS an opening.

Again your kidding, what teams in the upper Midwest are traveling to Eldora for a WoO show or which teams from the East are traveling to SD the Silver shootout, cant wait to see you list.

The question should be, with the bigger names that ran Husets last year already committing to Knoxville for this season, which of those will skip (2) points nights at Knoxville and fore-go Knoxville's point fund just to run these (2) Huset's specials? If Dobmeier, Kaeding, McCarl, Lynton Jeffreys (sp?) elect to run Knoxville those (2) nights, who will you have at Husets? I think that's a fair question.

Also, they just had Tom Savage on the 5:00 o'clock news stating that at this time, there is no buyer and they will continue searching for a buyer into the 2018 season if need be...z

And, nobody else is mentioning it, but it shouldn't be ignored. Late in 2016 it was announced that the three tracks were going to build schedules around cooperation. Knoxville and Jackson both announced schedules that would not conflict with Badlands big events and Badlands in turn according to CB was going to coopertate. Now, Badlands announces a scaled down version of a season and low and behold the two biggest events on the Badlands schedule go up against Knoxville. So much for cooperation and especially for making it easy for the drivers to choose a racinig destination. Am I missing something in the announced scheduling?

Jesus blazer I thought you woud be excited,  did you see the payout for the shootout, exactly what you have been bitchin about for the last two years top heavy purses, plus this race was always scheduled for May 13th, the WoO has always been on the schedule for July 1st&2nd since day 1. The agreement was not to run against both nationals, the only thing Knoxville wasn't going to run against was the Gold Cup so actually nothing has changed is far as dates.
