Like I keep saying - everyone needs to get on the same page with the rules. What does Knoxville allow that is not allowed with imca and vise a versa. I think I did read on here that a person could build their own motor but it had to be sealed by someone approved by imca. That might be the difference with some people.

I'd like to see sprint cars make a go of it at the State Fairgrounds - but remember it's been a stock car crowd for years and it'll be hard to change them.

I'm old (dirt calls Me Grandpa) I remember the old IMCA days when racing was a big draw at the Fair Grounds - The Hawkeye Futurity (if I remember it was like Memorial Day) - and the shows during the State Fair (that was before the State Fair Board decided they could make more money on concerts. Another reason they have talked about removing the track al together to make more parking (at $5 to $10 a car)

The fact that you guys think just changing the rules is the answer is hilarious. IMCA has proved with their IMCA A Mod crate engine that it doesn't change a damn thing. They allow the crate making all of my engines useless but yet even though it's sealed and has to be done at a "certified shop" just like the Racesaver engines do. They have more guys cheating up a $6000 motor and spending $8000 to cheat them up so they can win. Why? Because those "certified shops" and even the places selling the same seals on the internet that supposedly you can only get from IMCA or GM or a "certified shop". It invites cheating and over spending. Granted car counts have gone up, BUT those with money still spend it to cheat and or make their motors that much better. Best solution: make us run street cars and engines right out of them like the old days fastest guy wins. Nothing done to better the sport will EVER solve any issues you have now. Hopefully it will raise car counts, but it will not solve the problem of cost. Never has never will.

Yep, yet the car counts are 26 for $400 to win and 8 for $700 to win.

It's not about the purse to the racers obviously.....

Racesaver purses tend to be less top heavy with the money spread more evenly top to bottom. I don't know what the total purses are at either place, but I'll bet they're pretty close. Racesaver  is the way to go. It's' the best way to keep sprint cars from extinction, while providing a feeder system for the 410's we love.

As per each tracks website

Knoxville 305 payoff $400 to win $50 for 24th  $2700 total purse. Getting 24 or 25 cars per night.

Iowa state fairgrounds $500 to win $75 for 24th $3850 total purse but they are only getting 8 or 10 cars so they are not paying all of that yet. Hope the unpaid purse goes into a point fund.

Give the fairgrounds some time Rome wasnt built in a day. Tony is doing a great job trying to get something going in DSM. The racesaver deal if policed by the racers and the track is a great deal. I own both a Knoxville 305 and a Racesaver Motor. I love Knoxville but I can tell you I have left there with my 360 in and a 50 dollar check in my hand. Tony's purse is great and the car count will only grow.

Well, here we go......As Sargent Joe Friday would say......"Just the facts mam"......Eagle Raceway purse....$700 to win....$250 to start (15-20th)  $100 to B Main starters (over $7000 purse depending on car count).......started last season with 16 cars, ended with 22,  IMCA Racesaver Supernationals drew over 50 cars each day for $2000 to win, $1000 to start, and $4-500 tow.......this year 3 races 34, 33, and 30 cars......10 former 360 drivers already running 305's to race weekly at Eagle and 20 plus "new" or second year drivers moving from other divisions (and that WASN'T happening in previous years-well okay, 3 rookies in 3 years).......Jason Martin won the first two Features in 2014 (and third at last years Supernationals after starting last)  with a $6500 long block built from all new parts.....running tires for 2-3 Features and still good tread.......the only cost the Racesaver package can't control is crash repair, and that can happen with any rules package, with any engine, at any track is is somewhat up to the drivers themselves.......the spec engine, that anyone can build, is a far cry from the GM crate deal (apples / oranges).......IMCA didn't dream up the Racesaver idea, it was a proven deal for years, but they, along with Eagle promoter Roger Hadan will take it to the  next level .......the naysayers can do what they wish, but affordable weekly sprint car racing is alive and well in Nebraska.........my work here is done.......................SC

Knoxville is the Sprint Car Capitol of the world and D.M. capitol of Ia.The 305s at Knoxville put on a good show but it is not what people are paying to see.The 410s have one of the best fields ever.Remember Knoxville tried the bigger cube lower cost motors but no one was very interested.Tony is tring to help promotr Racesavers and sprint cars in general but it takes time and cooperation.I think a young inexperienced driver would better off at D.M. with slower speeds and less cars.IMCA and Midwest sprint cars have tried hard but seem to lose out to the ones that have higher priced motors. You cant keep people from spending money even if it doesnt always make good business sense. In alot of cases its not about the money just being where the action is and Knoxville is it for sprint car fans.

Here is a link to a radio show featuring a former 360 driver from Eagle who is now a die-hard IMCA Racesaver sprint car driver.
