What would it take to get more sprint car at arlington?
|
Arlington Raceway & Redwood Speedways Sprint Car class will pay $400.00 to win this coming season. They also have several Jackpot Junction races lined up that will pay $600.00 to win. Steel County Speedway has invited the IMCA Sprint Cars down for 3 shows this season with 1 of them being a Jackpot Series race. Can't wait to get back at it!

What a discussion, I am very happy with the way the rules are at the moment. 1550 wieght rule, I will never have the chance to be under that, the 1 7/8 air restrictors and the gear rule together make for some great tight racing action. We do have a head claim rule for $800 and thats the only claim that we have. Last season we had one claim when Neil Stevens claimed Chris Graf at Redwood, later Stevens barrowed an engine to Graf so Graf could make it to a few shows. I dont see any of the locals trying to drive away cars, as a matter of fact almost all of them will give a guy a helping hand if he needs it or barrow parts out. I love racing with each and everyone of them. The rules we race under makes it affordable for me to race and actually be competitive at times. I used to race hobby stocks and had almost the same amount of money invested in that and went no where with it. Now I race a 94 Gambler and a 95 American Challenger and they have nights where they compete with the best of them. Raising the pay would maybe draw in a few more cars but, it would also make people spend more money to get to victory lane and cause some to spend themselves out of existance. The pay may be lower than other tracks but we dont have as many expenses to worry about, like tires. You can run whatever you want on the front and on the rear the IMCA tires last a long time with out being replaced, I have seen some teams tire expenses that run at jackson I couldn't afford it. The pay will be $500 a night if we have 20 cars which will happen if everyone pulls them out of the garage and decides to come have fun with all of us.
Good luck and have fun in 2007 whereever you may be headed. , Sincerely Brett Allen #00
