Cardey is too inconsistent. Until I see something otherwise, I have to agree with I hatebush.
I bet Davey Pombo wins more races than Cardey this year, does anyone want to take that bet?
|
I'll take that bet lets say $500.00 is that OK
Just come by the Ralphie section and we will shake on it. Sorry I will be on the East coast until March
but I will post a message on this board when i get back so we can arrange this transaction
You can't miss me I'm the VP/bouncer of the Ralphie section
Have a good day

If Tony Jones is not running a full point chasing schedule, who is your pick for the championship in '08 ? ?
Spencer is probably the odds on favorite. I would love to see either Sheridan or Cardey win it though. Kruseman will miss too many CRA races to chase points. So who's your pick? ?
Ripper ?
Spencer ?
Showtime ?
Pombo ?
Cardey ?
Miller ?
|
I say Jones wins so many times when he does decide to run, that he still wins the championship. But then I am kind of a Jones or nothing fan, so what did you expect.
OK, if I can't root for Jones to win the title, then my pick is Jimmy Wilson!

I'm not too sure about that. Jones only won it by a thick whisker last year, and that was runnin' at times with a broke car, and other times a broke body. One of the main things that makes this series so great is that the competition is so tight. What was it, 9 different winners in the first 9 races as I remember.
Who would I like to see win the title? Rip Williams. He's been runnin' sprint cars longer than I've been a fan. Used to watch him race at Ascot when I first became a fan. He was consistently fast then too.
But like many others here I gotta go with Spencer too. He's young, talented and seems very hungry for the title. Add to that some of the finest equipment available and you have a tough combination to beat, consistent, clean and fast. I think Sheriden will be right there with him for some of the same reasons. Maybe not quite as clean. (Sorry Danny)
Following them, in any order, I'll pick; Williams, Cardey, Gaunt, Ford, Hansen, (Pombo, maybe. He is a bit new to the series to call). Jones, Kruseman and Johnson if they run enough races. It's a long way for R.J. to tow every two weeks.
For sure there is a lot of promise for another great season and I agree with the post that said something like; The ones who win at almost every race are the fans. Bring it on!

Pombo is anything but "new " to this series. Davey is just in a lot better equipment then he has run with CRA. He has driven for the Lancaster's and in his own 3p in previous seasons.
Go Showtime! ! Go Ripper! !

I meant no insult to Davey Pombo. He is in my top ten albeit with the question mark. I know he has been winning a lot on tracks north of Perris. I only recall seeing him once at The PAS last year, that was at the Nationals and he did very well indeed. He has landed a great ride and I wish him the best of luck. And he should bring some new fans to the stands and that will be good for the sport and The PAS. I sat next to his uncles one night at the Nationals and they were great guys. Looking forward to seeing how he does.

Cant see Gaunt finishing 5th in points running a partial schedule.
How can you leave Blake Miller out of your top ten? Hell, i bet he finishes in the top 5.

I guess I missed it that Gaunt would not be running the full series. And, I thought I had heard Scott say that Blake Miller was not going to run this year because he was due to become a new daddy. If I got that wrong and he runs a full schedule then I agree with you.

OK, I'll come clean. I was mostly just blabbering to see if I could get a rise out of anyone. But your response is a good one, with a lot of truth. And I agree that Spencer is the odds-on favorite. Of course, stuff happens. And you are absolutely right, that as long as they are racing, we - the fans - win!
But, next to Tony Jones, I'm root'n for Jimmy Wilson!

I think it is all just blabbering right now, you're right when you say feces occurs on a racetrack and lots can and will happen before the truth will be known. Picking a season champ right now is like picking who will win the Superbowl before football season starts.
But OK, you got a rise, I'll bite, who in the hell is Jimmy Wilson?

You bet I've got my T-shirt - bought two, and gave one as a Christmas present. You really think I should tell? Let's just say he is strongly supported by Dave Argabright.
Are you going to practice tomorrow? Weather permitting I'm going.

OK, so it's an inside joke and I have once again displayed my ignorance. Made me look. Be sure and wear your Jimmy Wilson t-shirt tomorrow, if I see it I'll buy you a beer. See you there.

Great. Come look me up in Section E, row 15, seat 21. (top of the Ralphie Section) I'll shake your hand for being such a good sport and reveal the mystery. (but you don't have to buy the beer - it gives me a headache so I don't drink it.)

It was mentioned on the USAC Racing Show that Guant would only be driving part time this season. If i remember correctly, one of his sons is going to be running some VRA stuff this year. Don't remember which class....Focus maybe?

So, how many guys are going to run ALL of the races?
To the best of my knowledge we have:
Spencer, Sheridan, Cardey, Miller, Williams, & Pombo.
Anybody know for sure about these guys?
Ford, Hansen, Brown, and Bates.
