Kevin, I don't think you are bitching but I do think you should re-direct your anti-Perris rules enegy twoard getting Naylor and others to eliminate the gasket. You seem to have influence at Ventura and if there is anything wrong w/ 360 racing right now it is the gasket. As long as there are gaskets there will never be much use of the ASCS head, an inexpensive head that will unify 360 racing, (example bring the Az guys to Ca.). I've said it here before let the ASCS guys run w/o the gasket and for the guys w/ open heads make it manditory. NEITHER BRODIX OR EMMETT HAHN EVER INTENDED FOR THE GASKET TO BE USED W/ ASCS HEADS. Like someone here said it well a while back "why should I run a restrictor on my restrictor".

About the Perris open 360 race, unless it is the pay-out you are worrying about go and have a good time. You are only looking at a couple of teams w/ cockpit adjustables (Showtime will be one and you won't beat him anyway). No one will be there w/ alum blocks and down nozzles, not even the half-dozen silver-spoon locals.

""Don't need ASCS telling anyone here what to do. Left Coast 360 rules.''

Growing up in AZ and California I feel the same and I was not that keen about them coming here but after loosing the traditional rivalry between USAC and CRA and SCRA, I was not all that surprised. Even though I like what USAC does in some cases, I just hate to see their name upstage ours. If you remember what it was like when USAC came to town, the excitment of us against them...never mind LOL

Kenny,
Remember these days?

"What all of them share are massive inferiority complexes, surely the biggest ones in racing. Never have I come across sprint car drivers who berate themselves with such enthusiasm as do the CRA boys; they are absolutely wonderful at knocking one another and heaping abuse upon their association. Until you hear it with your own ears, you can't believe it."
"For years these embittered individuals went to Ascot at the end of each season to watch the annual USAC-sanctioned races and to hero-worship the visiting USAC stars and ridicule their own drivers. The USAC always issued a few temporary permits to certain CRA drivers and car owners, merely to fill up the starting field. Naturally, the part of the field usually filled by CRA cars and drivers was the rear.
But in 1967 at Ascot, a CRA driver, Bob McCoy, in a CRA car, the Chassey Plumbing Special, average 80 miles an hour and absolutely crushed the fastest USAC personnel. It was wonderful. McCoy had no mercy, he wiped out a track that included Larry Dickson, Sammy Sessions, Greg Weld, Bobby Unser.
"I can't believe what I'm seeing," stammered on stunned CRA member from the sidelines.
"It's been ten years I've waited to see this," I heard another one say.
"Ya-hoo!" screeched a third.
Soon enough the luster was chipped away, and McCoy's resounding win was declared a meaningless one. "Hell he just caught the USAC drivers on an off-night. Couldn't do it again in a million years. No CRA humpty could."
McCoy, well aware of what was being said behind his back, refused to accept it "I don't care what those guys are saying," he told me, close to tears. "I whipped the USAC guys fair and square."
