And for the idiot who thought I mean bathrooms by saying "facility" let me explain things to you. Port Royal has by FAR the best package when it comes to seating, bathrooms (just for you), infield, track, food is so-so, and just the overall experience of seeing a race. There isn't a bad seat to be had anywhere at Port. Try that at others, you'll find plenty of bad ones.
And for the fool using his favorite phrase "doesn't hold water" let me tell you something. If you think the outdated Williams Grove track is as good as it could be, you clearly don't get out of, say, Mechanicsburg when it comes to seeing a race. Just because it has history doesn't mean you shouldn't improve the place. Good lord, I can't believe I'm even arguing this. WG is outdated, period. Go to BAPS or Port and see where they are now. They too once looked old and outdated like WG, but they realized that they needed to get with the times. The crowds reflect it as do the car counts. And those two things are what matters.

Watched Port last night and it was less than ideal. The track was wore out before the heats were over. I could see big...I mean huge spots where there wasn't any water at all in/on the track. Horrible, horrible track conditions....smooth yes, but who wants to see a race like that.....not me. Hard, black, dry again....nothing new here....like a normal Saturday at the Port.
I don't go to the races for the facility....I go for the racing on the track. I could careless what the facility looks like. When they start preparing the track the way it should be at the beginning of the night I will be back until then I will never go to Port again.

Does anyone realize they could have a group of people working in the track prep and another cleaning washrooms. A facility can have both in good condition, they aren't limited to one or the other. It's a business, provide better entertainment than the competition wether that is another racetrack or football stadium. Update what you need to and be competitive. History only Carrie's you a short time before someone else history is more appealing.

Ask most teams and they will tell you, Groves really hard on engines. Widen the corners by bringing the infield in would greatly improved the track�

The issue isn't that the track needs someone to "clean" the washrooms. The issue is that they are a pit that stinks when the weather gets even somewhat warm. No amount of "cleaning" will fix that.

The track isn't prepared right, the program is run inefficiently or unfairly, the food's bad, etc, etc, Let me tell you my experience. I'm from out west. I took my vacation in June/July to attend PA speedweek. Ten races in a row, seven tracks. It was great. The racing was fantastic, shows run well, facilities at the worst were no worse than out here. Can improvements be made? Sure, but I would give my speedweek experience an 'A' at all tracks. Realize what you guys have instead of bashing it.
Negative comments on social media against a track hurt it and racing in general. Read Mandee Pauch's column in Speed Sport - June issue. Tracks lose sponsorships and fans turn away because of what is said on social media. It ends up with tracks weakened with what they can offer and closing down. If you have a problem go directly to the promoter or the person in charge with your problem. If enough go to him he'll likely listen and do something if he can. Putting complaints on social media does more harm than good.

I've been saying for years that people around here are spoiled and it's true. We all complain sometimes. I'm as guilty as anyone but for some reason, in PA, most people always have to have a major bias. 15 years ago, if you got on the Williams Grove board you'd be left to think that good racing only occurs at Lincoln and Port Royal was a dump not worth going to. Very far from the truth. Port Royal was no doubt in need of a cosmetic facelift back then and the clay wasn't as good but there was still a lot of good racing there yet certain people refused to acknowledge it even if it happened right in front of them. Then something changed. What? I don't know but a few years back suddenly it became the "in" thing to do to praise Port Royal for everything they did whether they deserved it or not while shitting on everything Williams Grove and Lincoln did. Especially Williams Grove. Some of that criticism was deserved, some of it was not but in the eyes of many people Williams Grove can do no right even though they often do and Port Royal can do no wrong. Sometimes they will get praised for doing the very thing Williams Grove gets get bashed for (slick, dry tracks and early cancellations are the usual ones). I have no idea why that is and I have no clue why some of these people can't see what's right in front of them and appreciate it but that's how it's always been at least during my lifetime. It irritates the hell out of me to be honest.

Agree with others. Great post and as far as Central PA's track, I will take the opinions of drivers, owners, etc. over keyboard warriors. Go on Twitter and you don't read anywhere near the negative stuff you see on this message board. Mostly nothing but props especially for Port Royal & Lincoln. Have seen some good things regarding BAPS too (need to get there soon). Constructive criticism never hurts anybody, but only focusing on the negatives of a facility is foolish IMO.
Also, don't believe everything you read on here. I've seen "things" at Port Royal that are 100% different than what others put on here and I'm not talking about the speedway. People's claims.
Regardless I feel very fortunate to live close to all of these great PA tracks! Wouldn't want it any other way!
