Na I'm good. In fact, despite some of the childish behavior by a bunch of dumb fucks who can't handle their booze and get their tits out of joint when one of the best in the business beats their local boys, I love Central Pa. We have a huge amount of talent here and for a sprint car fan, it doesn't get much better than having as many races as we do from February through November at so many different top notch tracks. For the most part, the fans around here are really good people who are very knowledgeable about sprint car racing and are actually capable of appreciating the talents of those who don't have a PA mailing address. Sometimes the actions of a few who get entirely too much attention bring shame to us but I think when most people come here, they'd really enjoy it and see that just like everywhere else, we just have a few stupid assholes who unfortunately have internet access and get piss drunk and make fools of themselves when an outlaw guy wins on Posse turf.

It isn't hard to tell by your post that you aren't a Schatz fan, but to imply that he uses traction control in these days is amazing. The only traction control on that 15 car is on the end of Schatz's fight foot. It's really great to hear all you unbelievers accuse him of cheating, all that really does is tell everyone else that you think he is so good that he has to be cheating. That boy can drive. Oh ya and if you really think someone can sandbag, you make me laugh. When the track gets slick the 15 starts going forward, anyone can hold it wide open and drive like a cowboy when it's wet and heavy, but the real drivers show up when it slicks off at the end of the race. Donny really knows how to keep the car under him and save his tires when the gassers are hammer down spinning theirs. watch and learn.
(ps you are right about the new qualifying rules, they do benifit other drivers, but the 15 team will rise to the occasion just give them a little time. It's nice to have rules changes that help everyone else catch up.)
|
Dead on the money. I still maintain that if the 15 was cheating, the other teams who he has kicked the shit out of over the last decade would be on to him long before all of us keyboard commandos and they'd sure as hell not sit back and keep their mouths shut while the 15 breaks the rules and wins all the money. Guaranteed they'd be raising all kinds of hell and they'd be having him torn down. That mass uprising has yet to happen which tells me 1 of 2 things. Either A) he's not cheating or B) he is cheating but everyone else is doing the same shit and he's still that much better than they are.

RW - you and the fellas do a great job preparing the 15 car...I agree and do not think the team is doing anything different (legal / illegal / grey area etc.) than any other team on the tour - outside of embarrassing the rest of the travllers each time you tow to Central PA.
Look back over the points for the last 10 years...Donnie puts distance between himself and the rest of the points racers as they stuggle to make the field of 28 cars...and chalk up also ran finishes outside the top 5.
Nobody really knows why the TC company is still in business selling illegal devices anymore than they know what brand of skunk piss the Lasoski team used to mask the suspected tire softening chemicals that drew attention the attention of Kville's inspection team.

No, just Posse trained by Warner. Pittman also went to the University of Central PA. And Sweet is being Posse trained by Stauffer as we speak. Takes 6 degrees to connect to Kevin Bacon. Most Outlaws are only separated by 1 or 2 degrees from the Posse promised land.

Did you know cubic that the 83 car and the 17W car both have posse crew chiefs that used to work on the 15 team with Donny and Ricky. They know how to train them.

the right side wing panel appears to be out of compliance on this logo!

What I believe is happening is that the rule changes have taken away the advantage of sand bagging time trials. With the format currently in place you have to qualify well and run well each and ever time you hit the track. I wasn't a fan at first when I heard the changes but it's proving to be a good thing so far. Also sticky tracks dont need traction assistance either so that could be having an effect on a certain teams performance as well. When the tracks go dry slick you can rest assured there will be one car and one car only that can miraculously improve lap times by racing in the middle groove where nobody else can. Some call that pure driver talent, great crew chief, etc... I'm inclined to believe its more complicated than that.
|
couldn't agree with you more on that!
also Shady stauffer has been none to have several tricks as does Schatz does... Go pros are great places for those traction assistance units. Ever notice those tire dipping teams never give away their tires at the end night or never leave them by their trailers at the end of the night. How could a driver not have any dnfs when everyone else gets flats and blow outs.
Just wish the outlaws would tech more. But when you have Kasey and Tony's guys driving these cars are they really going to check to see why they are up front every night !

Not much doubt that the #49, #9 and #15 are three of the four highest budgeted teams in the nation....and the #83 ranks right up there. The #2 car is probably in that top four of budgets and will be right up there when the season shakes out. Oh how racing with money makes all the difference in the world!

Yup, it has more to do with money than where the crew chief is from. Don't see any of those great posse crew chiefs winning with an underfunded team. I noticed the posse trained crew chief and drivers do not have the 1a or 1s running up front much!

It takes big bucks to be able to afford the elite. Ferraris, cuban cigars, beluga caviar, a bottle of Château Margaux, posse bred crew chiefs... they are all expensive.

It takes big money and a good driver to make a posse crew chief look good. The BDS team does not have anywhere close to the money Donny's team does and he still darn near beat him last year at Knoxville. I've seen them start the night with a used tire that has already been grooved, siped and ground and still TT good and run top 3 in the A main.
The 1a & 1s have posse bred crew chief and drivers and still are most often back markers.
