How about the truth.................
you wanted the best so
we give you Donny 4 abreast
against all the rest, he is the greatest show
on dirt against the rest......so sit back enjoy the 15 car running our( world of outlaws series)
that would be the truth, painfull but the truth
Merry Christmas everybody

Well said sir, this is all Woo can sell there brand of racing with now --WHO WILL BEAT DONNY ? Yes , Donny is a good driver but who wants to see him win most of the time . But then maybe this will be the year , that more drivers win and more excitement . Posse racing to me is more exciting as far as winged racing then WoO brand.

Johnny is the best in the business and does a great job bringing the action to life even if I am listening on Dirtvision. Keep up the good work.

I don't go to the races to hear the announcer. If I did, I'd go to an auction instead. Once the green flag drops, he could be speaking Latin for all I give a shit because my eyes and ears are on the track. That's just my opinion but regardless, I do like his pre-race call and it has become a tradition now so I don't think he needs to change it. Personally, I think he's the best announcer in sprint car racing hence the reason he's employed by the premier series in sprint car racing. Johnny is truly the voice of the Outlaws and it wouldn't be the same without him and his signature call. I still get chills when he reels if his "you wanted the best, you got em four abreast" call. Absolutely love it.

When racing in front of fans that are there because there is a NASCAR race down the street,I found out a few years ago at Bulls Gap,Tennesee what Johnny SHOULDNT say on the parade lap,"Everybody on your feet.' Everybody was on their feet after that, and despite the very good pitch to the grandstands, they stood for 15 of the 30 laps.............

The twice a year fans would miss it if you left it out. It may be tedious to the regulars, but it is part of the spectacle for the 2 times a year fans.

JG does his homework before each show on the local drivers that support the Outlaws... I have never heard him mispronounce a driver's name... He has a passion for the sport and it comes accross in his delivery...What else do you need?

Ohh sorry, your point you made absolutely made no sense cause you go on to say in your post that you do listen cause you know what he says and go on to say its tradition,so your listening or you woudnt know would you? I think you just wanted be cute and cocky with your comments but you went on to step on it by admitting you listen Before trying to be cute saying you didnt....Merry Christmas

Ah, another that can't comprehend written text. If you would have read and comprehended what he wrote, he said he doesn't listen to the announcer once the green flag drops, but does listen pre-race and between races. You got your panties all twisted up for no reason.
My opinion, I think Johnny Gibson does a great job. He's very knowledgable and informative on the present, and history. I personally like the "you wanted the best, you've got'em four abreast, the Woooorld of Outlaws!" Hell, gives me goosebumps just thinking about the anticipation and atmosphere right before the start of an A Main. As far as the music, good music never goes "out" of style. The only thing I don't care for are the nicknames. Some nicknames are well earned and deserved, but some of them are just plain hokey and, in my opinion, could give a newbie the impression that sprint car racing is on a pro wrestling level.

He is a good announcer but IMO its time to say something different on that parade lap,he is good enough to come up with something else im sure of it, also would like the music they he plays between hot lap sessions and heat races to be updated instead of the tired songs that get played, when you travel around as much as I do to watch Woo you would understand where i was coming from. If you want some better music Johnny ask the fans what they want and im sure you would get a positive outpouring of new songs if your not to familar with what is in and what is dead........ Not complaining I just would like to see Johnny take a refresher course on his work and entertain us for our money spent on watching the show that it is, music is powerfull and it always has been and would set the tone and the mood even higher then what it is while were watching

Better Idea, Lets change all the USA Holidays, each year, maybe Chirstmas on July 4th. Maybe the World Series Baseball in February 29th every year, but that won't work, as there is not but 1 Feburary 29 every 4 years. Johnny is the voice of real racing, Winged Sprint Cars.

Listening to Gibson on DirtVision, and watching on DirtVision often times is like catching two different races.... the one on the track and the one he describes. All to often the "action" he describes is not what is taking place on the track.....his "they're nose to tail" when there is 5-7 car lengths or more separating the drivers involved, or "they banged wheels" is one of his favorites when the racing is close, but visually there was no contact and it's obvious there wasn't. He's paid to create excitement, and I get that. As far as his knowledge I do respect that and he has plenty. The tag line "You wanted..........................!' That's fine. But.....I don't give a crap about some sissy looking announcer belting out "Let's get ready to rumble" when he appears to be a wuss.....and the worst ever will always be Waltrip's "boogety boogety boogety!" Just my 2 cents, of course.

I love JG. He does a great job. As many other have mentioned he is very knowledgeable about both the WOO drivers but the local drivers as well. His tag line is a signature for the Outlaws. He should never change it.
As far as the music, have you ever thought that he is playing the music that he thinks most of the fans will enjoy? Or perhaps, he is going off an approved play list from the WRG? If you ever followed JG on twitter, you would know that music is one of his other passions. He is always talking about new groups that he is now listening to.
Finally, we all know that he works all of the races that the outlaws race, but he is a also a fan. I would guess that he watches more races as a fan than most of us fans watch in a year. If you are not a fan of JG, I would suggest following him on Twitter. It may change the way you feel about him.

I have gone to 6-10 WoO races a year for the last 15 years. I still get chills on the parade lap. Keep up the good work Mr. Gibson. I have always said when Johnny retires and writes his book--I will be one of the first to buy it.

JG does a good job doing his home work but not the best by any means. That title will always go to Windy McDonald. Hands down...mic drop.

He did change it up this year. He left out STP SPRINT CARS........LOL. NOT BY CHOICE but was different. Asking Johnny to change would-be like asking Bruce Ellis to stop saying " It,s Showtime at Williams Grove Speedway " It,s their calling card and would be missed it they stopped, or change it.

That is a poor and overused analogy. So, if you have ever sat in your house, and watched a football game, any sort of game, and you bitched and moaned that the Quarterback should have made that throw, or your team should have won so the coach coached bad, then you would be guilty of doing the same thing. We all do it. Some like him, some don't. Some may like Jay Cutler (although I would question their ability to know a good football player when they see one) and some don't like Jay Cutler. It's personal choice. I hear JG MAYBE on average once a year, and I really don't have an opinion, that isn't why I am there. Just sayin'

they have support classes to stuff the back gate receipts, plain and simple
|
I happen to know that I am pretty shur i am right, out here in the west If it was only the outlaws the show could take 50 minutes to hr and a half to run at most with no support classes preety much about keeping people there for more beer sales and food sales ....
