Just take a fan poll of the non-qualified drivers and award the driver with the most votes a starting spot?
Heck for that matter just have fans vote for the 24 drivers they want to see in the race and go with that lineup.
If anyone thinks I'm serious read my post above about fixing non-broken stuff and cheapening up the Nationals.

No Likey!!! Chilly is right, It cheapens the Event... Making the Knoxville Nationals was once described to me as "You would have a better chance of winning the Lottery" The Championship race should be hard fought and justly earned. No Gimmicks.

I am on the fence on this one. But one thing is for sure, for somebody to think this will get a "slow" car in to the A is dumb. Let's look at who it would of been the past few years.

2011 Jason Johnson
2010 Lucas Wolfe

In recent yrs, yes it would have worked ok. Still not needed but it would have worked.
Go back further, the World Challenge hasn't always been full of fast cars.
Maybe I'm wrong and it would never be a problem but they had better be prepared for it being a possibility since they're apparently worried about slow cars in the heat races.

Not impressed. Hate to see an effort to make Friday better, somehow cheapen Saturday. Part of what makes Knoxville special is you better have your shit straight every time you hit the track. If they want to add an extra car, add one more from the B on Saturday. The World Challenge will likely add a good car to the field, just kind of feels like a gimmicky short cut.

I go along with the "If it ain't boke, don't fix it" idea, with one exception, I kinda like the "Past Champion's Provisional" idea.

Not fair, if they take a car and driver out of the World Challenge (which is not open to all competitors?) To be fair, a 25th starter should come from the entire entry list, not a select few who have run here, and overseas? Is political correctness invading our beloved Sprint Car Racing? DO NOT SCREW WITH THE NATIONALS, IT IS NOT BROKEN!!!

Friday nights change was much needed, this is a DUMB idea. They keep forcing this event trying to make it important, the only thing I like about the World Challenge is it allows me to get to the car and get a head start. I'm usually half way to the hotel before the race is over, easiest traffic night of the week. They lost me on this race years ago when tied the cars together with ropes.

Damn fella's I say I don't like some changes at a certain track or talk about a event that shouldn't be at said track & get hammered. It's an opinion either way. Would be funnier than hell if the guy starts 25th & wins. Remember the Alphabet runs.
One other thing the person that is above you or in charge of always thinks Change Is Good. Really now !!!

If the A Main is 50 laps, why not start 30 cars.
28 cars started the 1st World of Outlaws race back in May & it seemed to work out pretty good with no big pileups.

Lol@Opnwhlr, Would not work! You would have "Posers" saying they were gay just to get in the show.
All in favor of last years Friday changes, And not against adding a car or two to the Championship race. Just don't think this is the fair way to do it.
Either way Donnys gonna get in the show and Win it!
Where's the dude with the Aiplane and Banner? "ANYONE BUT SCHATZ"
