From what the speedtv article states, the "b" main has been eliminated as well. Guess that means if you have a problem in your heat you are now "done".

Double File Restarts could be OK, but I see a lot more torn up equipment than better racing in our future (it will take that much longer on restarts to catch the tail end fo the field when the real racing begins).

No problem here with lining up the dash by time (just wish there was a chance of an invert to keep it exciting for the fans. Basically being quick-time will make you start in row 2 of your heat, on the front row of the dash, and provided you don't let anyone pass you, on the front of hte feature. wow, that sounds exciting to me as a fan, not...

Elimination of the "B" main sounds like a bad idea to me. Less racing for the fans, but ticket prices remain the same (or in some instances increased). I just don't understnad the logic behind that one...

Just my $.02

i swear some people just get dumber every year. no where in that articule does it say the "B" main will be eliminated. it says the "non qualifiers" race will be eliminated. since when is a "B" main ever been refered to as the non qualifiers race? as a matter of fact, the woo refers to the "B" main as "the last chance show down". i guess to understand the logic, you first have to understand what you are reading.

As a fan, I love the idea of double-file restarts.... but I'm curious to see how it works out. When do most cautions occur in an A-Main? From my experience, it is rare to see an A-main feature without a caution within the opening three laps... not always due to over-aggressive driving, but most times seems like a case of too many cars going for the same spot. Double-file restarts could be the best thing for the sport OR we could have several races mirror the '08 Brickyard 400 with the 30-lap feature being converted (due to cautions) to ten 3-lap heats.

I also tend to agree with an earlier post that the clause giving officials the ability to change the rules during the race is a bad idea, BUT anything based on safety first is a good idea. It would be nice for WoO officials to provide a brief explanation regarding "when/what" situations in which the clause would come into effect..... then again, perhaps the WoO has already provided that info or will provide it at the drivers meeting prior to events. The "clause" will certainly provide some arguments to this board over the year! Smile

Regardless, I am excited to see double-file restarts and I think the fans are guaranteed to see some of the most exciting finishes in recent years as the driver in 6th with three laps to go actually has a shot to win with a caution, two solid laps, and a little fortune!
