I guess so Duane. Mulligan wouldn't even know Franek or Cannon or Suprick if they punched him in his trash talkin' mouth. He doesn't know the first thing about their race teams, or the class of cars they compete in, or where they started racin', or what it took far them to make it to FL. I'm just tired of the two faced garbage.........I get villified by Nanook of the North for junkin' up this board with a funny picture..........and all I see is more of the same bad mouthing and disrespect from the retired carnival worker.
I'll try my best not to engage the fool..........If a tree falls in the woods, and no one is there to hear it, did it really make a sound??

I never heard of your PA drivers, but I do respect them all.
I can understand their reluctance to travel in the summer somewhat.
With the 360 class being head and shoulders, by far my favorite class, some of the less known names are the future of the sport.

Your respect is appreciated and noted Duane.
For me the 360 class is an enigma. McCarl says it's junk..........Emmit Hahn says it's the best thing goin'!! 360's are the headline event at Susky this year...........we'll see. Jason Johnson kicks ass all over the country and can't qualify last night when 358 guy's from PA, who some weeks doesn't make the show in PA, finish 6th and 10th!!!???......not to mention Lasoski's DNQ...........but we don' hear about that from Hockeyhead........just POSSE bashing. I'm tired of it.

I do believe that "Hockeyhead" has more of a problem with 3 or 4 posse fans than he does with the posse drivers.
I know and like many of the PA drivers, heck even Lynn Paxton is a decent guy LOL LOL LOL

Thanx for the chat.

Ahhh, the whining from the two faced continues, some things never change. GROW UP, both of you.
Now that I know we are so terribly sensitive it might be a very long for ya' Drank, thanks for the ammo, lmao.
In the rundown I did not recognize those names as the rest of the country didn't either. I am impressed that they have travlled to Florida though and doubly impressed at how well they did. However, I am not impressed with you constant whining, let it go, never figured you for a baby. Take It Easy.....

Just some quick background info: Pat Cannon started out in the Super Sportsman class at Silver Spring (Pa.) Speedway before moving to the 358 Sprints. He won the 358/URC challenge at Williams Grove last year ($4,000) on a night that had nearly 60 cars on hand. He was third in 358 points at the Grove last year.
Davey Franek is a 19-year-old. He was winning 358 features at Selinsgrove at the age of 17. Last year, he parked his 358 Sprint on Saturday nights and took a ride in a big-block Modified at Orange County (N.Y.) Fair Speedway, where he was a feature winner. Franek's father was a long-time Modified driver at Orange County.
Coleman Gulick also qualified last night at East Bay. He runs Clinton County (Pa.) on Saturday nights and won a feature last year as a 13-year-old.
Mike, you bash the fans of PA all the time and claim they run their mouth without being knowledgeable. Isn't that what you did here? You were the one who took the first cheap shot in this thread, then tell other posters to "grow up" when they respond to your bashing.

Not really. I was referencing the fact that the big dogs were not there or the usual names from the 358 series I am familiar with. I don't know those two guys you mentioned but I will most certainly be looking for them in the future. I have been hard on the PA racefan because there has been so FEW new guys surfacing on the National scene for the last dozen years or so, from your area.
I think it's great that TMC, the Dude and Tim Shaffer are down there racing, they are racers and that's what racers do, wouldn't you agree? There are guys there from the West Coast and Canada and with all the teams in your area you would think a few more might make the trip, whether they had a chance to win or not. It's not so much about winning or losing, it's about competing and I applaud all those that are doing so. May the best man win, God forbid he's from PA, lol, J/K. Take It Easy.....
PS The best 360 guys in the country for the most part have always been from the ASCS ranks, just the reality, sorry.....

By the way, I missed where I bashed the Posse in this thread. I did complement the two guys as soon as I was informed they were Posse and I hope they have a great weekend there. The two Posse cheerleaders perceive everything to be bashing due to their blind worship, it's truly laughable. They can attack all they want, it's gonna be a very, very long year for the Posse fan methinks, but I've been wrong before, just not on this subject, lol. Take It Easy....

The King of the 360's is a joke. Mike likes to rag on the PA 410 drivers that didn't make the tow but refuses to mention the guys from Knoxville that run 360's weekly and even the 2006 360 Nationals champ that failed to show.

We may disagree a little about how great it is that WoO travelers like Shaffer, Lasoski and McCarl are running the 360 races. Honestly, if I had my choice, I don't think any full-time 410 drivers should be running with the 360s this week. I know it is just a PA thing, but other than Cris Eash, the top 410 drivers never run the 358s locally.
Another thing is that other than Dewease, none of our top teams have any 360 engines. A guy like like Pat Cannon ran 358s all year at the Grove, but he also had a 360 engine as well. Our 358 engine rules are different from what everyone else in the country runs.
I don't dispute the fact the that ASCS has the best 360 drivers in the country. Since the 410s have died in the area ASCS frequents, established 410s stars like Gary Wright and Jason Johnson are now full time in the 360s. Here in PA, everyone still looks at the 410s as the division with all the top stars.

Not that I'm educated in the PA Scene. But if their representation is small I would think much might have to with the amount of $$$ they have to spend to stay competitive up there. Maybe they could be saving some strength and gettin some quality home time. I mean, I know the feelin of disappointment. There was an ASCS Sooner race on July 4th in 2004 or 05........only 14 sprints showed up. I was pissed at the time, but the A Main was amazing with Sean McClelland and Danny Jennings racing side-by-side the last 2 laps. I've learned car counts don't always tell the full story. And lookin back on it I imagine most of the drivers who didn't show were probably spending Independence Day w/their families and making the best of their time off work (not bustin their ass gettin a sprinter race ready). All in all-----I would say 73 sprints down there is more than enough....and sounds like they are putting on a hell of a show.
How much would could a wouldchuck chuck if a
wouldchuck could chuck would

I'm lost as to why it cost more for those PA guys to make the haul than it does for anyone else...Why should they get special recognition for that? PA is a hotbed for sprints, and that is awesome, but some of you guys need to learn that there is racing in other parts of the nation as well that is probably just as good. It's funny how everyone thinks their racers and races are better than everyone else. You have the Knoxville people, the PA people, the CA people, all saying that their racing is soooo much better than everyone else's.
I myself seem to think that Oklahoma is a great place for sprint car racing. Danny Wood, Shane Stewart, Darren Stewart, Daryn Pittman, Wayne Johnson, Danny Jennings, Smith McClelland, Robb, etc (and they all travel). In OKC we have a 360 show that will pull about 40 cars every Friday night that any of 20 guys could win at any time. We also have another 360 class (that runs carbs) at the same track on the same night that isn't as competitive but it still pulls about 30 a night. That's a good possibility of 70 sprints a night at a normal local show! At the Grove there's probably only about 10-15 that have a legit chance every night.
Also Jason Johnson's motor wasn't running worth crap last night and most of tonight, that's why he isn't doing any good. As OKCfan fan said congrats to the sooner state (and I guess Texas) drivers.
PS: OKCfan, they refer to Wright as a posse member as a joke because they kind of adopt anyone that runs up there. That way, when they win somewhere else they can brag that a posse member won.

It's tough and expensive to make the tow south. I truly admire those who do, no matter where they are from, especially the young teams. I think that a little travel makes you that much better prepared when you go home to run your home track points.
BTW, a little off-topic message to the Beerhill Gang:
Our promise, made to you at Knoxville, to visit the Grove this year will be kept. Tentatively planning on driving the old motorhome from the Buckeye State and joining up with the Beerhill Gang for the PA Speedweek show in July. Beck & I are looking forward to it!

Last time Mikey........insult me all you like........but take your own advise and grow up. No whining here........just pointing out your double talk and BS. You gave the old attaboy as soon as you were informed that there were POSSE cars in the top 10.........but until you knew it.............insults to the PA drivers...........backtrack, backtrack, backtrack. Don't pretend to know anything about our drivers here in PA.......besides Curt is there anyone on cubics list there that you have met, talked to, or took a picture of??.........didn't think so. As I said you wouldn't know 90% of them if they kicked your a$$. There's only a few people who are worried about who is on or off the porch Mulligan............and I can promise you that Rahmer or DeWease or Esh or Hod or Leppo or Krimes or whomever don't care what you think........as I said.........if a tree falls in the woods...........
