Clearly stated I did not accuse anyone of doing anything wrong. Just that it looked bad to casual fans, that is all. Like I said, suppose people found out the NFL commissioner was the majority owner of the K. C. Chiefs. Does not mean the Chiefs were not good enough to actually win the Super Bowl, but it would sure look bad for the NFL.

Perhaps a more realistic approach then, is for seasoned sprint car fans like you and I to explain it to those casual fans. Take an owner who is really big into sprint car racing and has the  means to cover a big budget. He hires one of the top drivers and puts him in the best equipment with a very good crew. The chances of that driver winning a big race after winning races all over the country for the last few years seems very plausible.

I disagree that it looks bad to the casual fan. If he was getting special treatment, then yes you could make that claim, but from what I've seen, that doesn't happen, nor would Gravel want it to happen.

I was unable to attend this year, but it looks like it was a success. I like the trend of the big money races. Many of us may not realize it but I think we're in an era when the sport is at it's healthiest.

Go and thank Tod, and support his teams, businesses.

Well, his grammar is better than yours, so there's that.

In other words, "The Grenade went off!"

Yea, thats always amazed me....

11years ago or so, my first & only trip to Volusia, Craig Dollansky was winning the feature when his engine blew. 1st or 2nd race of the season, probably brand new engine, 1/2 mile track, probably less than 40 laps.....

How would you feel if you spent $60,000 on an engine & it blew up in less than 20 miles????

They must REALLY be pushing those engines to the limits!

Gee, the car owned by the guy that owns Husets Speedway and the car that was sponsored by Husets all season and this week is sponsored by Billion Auto, who also sponsors the event wins the High Bank Nationals. Who would have thunk it. I'm not accusing anyone of wrong doing but it looks bad to the casual fan. Like if Roger Godell owned the NFL team that wins the Super Bowl.

Last year, the pit gate swung open right in front of Gravel.  Bad luck one year and good luck the next with Koifoid losing an engine.

The all have fuses.  Some are just longer than others.
