I have it. You know the rules when you buy it. The rues are spelled out on the website. If you don't want it , don't get it. More complaining for no reason.

They advertise all over their website that the cost is $39 per month. There is one note in the details about their 28 day policy.

They bill us every 28 days. Apparently my next bill would have been on the 5th costing me another full $39 to watch the last two races to end the year. Further, you have to email them to stop the service.

I think this a weak business plan and customers will see this as greedy and disrespectful. Am I alone here?

So I take it you do not plan on watching a single race from Aus this winter during the offseason? The 28 day thing is for most subscriptions including the credit card you used to send the payment (most have a 28 day billing cycle). I don't mind considering I get to watch racing from so many tracks all on one application. I get that you are frustrated. I do believe before they had the aus races they used to suspend the payments for December since they did not have any live racing for what that is worth now they have live races year round assuming that WSS races this winter.

Below is what is on Dirtvisions site but I had thought that these events were not extra anymore. I know this year I was not charged any extra for any special events such as the Cedar Lake races, Jackson Nationals, etc. The reason I first purchased DV was to watch the Kings Royal the year my son was running a fever. When I purchased it I was able to watch the rest of the month for the same price and just kept the subscription until after the World Finals. When I signed back up the following Feb I remember getting this message but had thought they changed their policy. I did not pay too much attention or minded it really as I attend the Kings Royal and Knoxville Nationals each year so there is not need for an exta subscription even if one is needed.

Kings Royal was included in 2019 (and they made a big deal about it if I recall) but then it went back to black out regular PPV for what should have been this year's version.  I imagine that was due to the purse increase.  Those are certainly big nuts to crack for the tracks, and they already had the PPV revenue streams for these events and had the data on how much they brought in for them. I'm sure it was a decent amount of revenue.  If I was paying that big of a purse, I'd want the PPV revenue stream to help offset costs too so I don't blame them.

I am surprised that tracks get nothing for it now since every race is live, but the promoters also know that when they agree to sanction with WoO, All Stars, etc.

I cancelled my Dirtvision sub this month, sent the email two days before the renewal date, the auto renewal happened anyway on the correct date, I waited a few days and watched DV the next weekend since it was still active.  This week ( two weeks later) I received an email informing me they cancelled my subscription and refunded the $39 I was charged in error. My credit card has already been credited. .

I agree with one of the previous commenters, DV could go to an annual subscription, I paid for 6) 28 day months this year (first time due to the pandemic),  I think I would do an annual if it worked out to be around say $400 annually. I don't know how many subscribers stop and start like us old farts but I want a deal if I'm going to watch year round.

The Flo deal is worth it, you never know which race is going to be the best but I get to see tracks I'll never get to, series I'm too far away from and drivers I would never see unless they ran the Nationals.

PS: Most Saturdays I watch both services using  TV, phone and laptop. Two or three A mains in a night ain't bad.

Correct me if I'm wrong but I thought the Australian races show. On Dirtvision we're not the WSS.  I didn't do it because of that and the time difference.  Two years ago before I retired I remember getting on my computer before I pushed down some food and left for work at 5:45 am and sometimes would catch what was going on through social media.  There is no way I would sit up half the night to watch those races at that time of night.  I'm not sure if Floracing has anything these next few months from Australia.  Brooke Tatnell's home away from home is nearby so it would be nice to follow him in WSS but I don't know if he is going down there with COVID.

What's my expectation? I pay all the bills for my household. Most of them are monthly. All of them come on the same day each month so the concept of how many days changes for all of them.

Phone, Garbage, Water and Sewer, HOA, Electricity, Natural Gas, Sirius radio, Fubo TV, Netflix, Hulu-Disney-ESPN+. All are once a month. None of them use the 28 day thing. Is it different in your household?

I too pay all my bills. Some like cable and cell phone do not change. Others like electric, water and gas change based on how much I use it. So if I use $5 of electricity a day, I'll pay more in a month with 31 days than I do 30 or 28. The other difference is all of those services are offering a constant product.   Do you feel cheated that you lose a day of service in a month with 30 or 28 days?  DV might show 8-10 live races (I'm assuming most everyone is subscribing for live shows and not for some online library available of old races) in one 28 day period but only 3-4 in another.

I have often considered that they should call it DIRTY VISION because of all their dirty tricks.

Another Dirty Trick is their “cancellation” policy.   If your subscription automatically renewed on October 14 and you cancel it today, October 28 they will NOT give you a 14 day refund.        Your subscription will stay active for the full “month” even though you attempted to cancel it half way through the term.      EVERY other service I have cancelled has stopped service immediately and given me a refund.   Not DirtyVision....

So make sure you cancel BEFORE the new auto renewal date to avoid paying for another full month.

I appreciate that they offer the choice and the service and I typically choose to subscribe for two  "28 day periods" in July and August.      I also appreciate the Free Audio.     But I wish they would be more honest to their customers....

Personally, I've had at least three online streaming services have the same policy. Once you pay for the period of service you get that service, no refund. As a matter of fact, I just checked the Lucas Oil app and they have the same policy, no refund for unused days. Flo is the same.
if they did prorate, what would stop someone from subscribing before a race starts and then canceling after the main event. You'd be paying $1.40 a race.  Even for a good 28 day period of 10 races, it's $3.90 a race.

Cheated is certainly not the right word. I agree with everyone that says the product is worth the money.

Can I feel that the price is fine, but their "monthly" tactics are lame?

Would you feel better if the cost was $1.40 per day, sold in 28 day increments?

FYI -      [email protected]   is the correct email address to use when you cancel.

Don't be like me and attempt to use [email protected] because that won't work.      I ended up getting billed for another 28 day "month" by the time I tracked down the correct email address.

The 28 day billing cycle is new and apparently started when they began offering their services for the full year.    I subscribed to DirtVision in 2018 and their introductory email said this:

"Your credit card on file will be billed $39 every 30 days through October 1st."

Now if we don't pay attention they will charge us $39 thirteen times per year.      Genius !!!

I think that advertised prices are intended to send a sort of a subliminal message.  For example people think "oh good, it's only $49.99" instead of "damn, they want $50 for that?"  Over simplification but we see that every time we shop online or in the store.

I suppose that helps sell more subscriptions as opposed to "watch every race for only $45 per month".

I have see short billing cycles dating back to before the internet so it's not unprecedented.  My first exposure to the Dirtvision 28 day billing cycle was when I noticed they billed my account a couple days shirt of 30.  My reaction was thinking to myself that I better hang a post it note on my monitor reminding me to get my cancel out a couple weeks earlier than I thought I'd have to at the end of the summer.

I don't recall if it's FAQ or billing and account info but there is a page with cancel procedures and the correct email address for notifying them you are canceling your fast pass.  My only issue was due to my own blunder accidently sending my Dirtvision cancel request to the Speed Shift email.  There is nothing that Dirtvision could have done to protect me from my own incompetence.

The services are good and even on a 28 day cycle it's still a good deal and a 28 day billing isn't a deal breaker for most subscribers.  My opinion took a temporary setback but that was my fault.  Their coverage and camera work was great this past season with the drone view of the races and those types of touches that make them stand out.
