I was watching on Flo and the cameras were focused on the pits so viewers could not see what was going on trackside. Could you provide some insight into why it took so long to get the track ready for racing. Numerous minutes transpired after all 4 cars were in the pits and it didn't appear that any of them were leaking fluids. Thanx.

Sweet was about the 3rd car in the work area. One of the Madsen cars was the last one so their 2mins actually extended Macedos, Sweet, and the other madsens time. All were probably out of the 2mins well before all cars were pushed back off. Took a little time to get all cars fired off but the had to get everyone lined up single file in their proper order.

That is where a majority of the I guess "delay" happened. A number of cars in the back were pacing side by side with another car, one car that I remember was TJ Michael. Not blaming him or saying anything negative just one I noticed along with the Madsens & Macedo as I think their may have been confusion where they each lined up in relation to each other & the lap cars. Once they did the started to assemble in double file & that's when it was announced Sweet was ready. After that the push truck couldn't push due to the damaged push bar so they had to get another one. Rule I believe as Johnny says is you can rejoin as long as repairs are made prior to the caution lights going out. They held the field 1 lap for sweet to be pushed out

I think you missed the "stupid" part of the stupid ass fans.  He meant people like you.......not all fans

Bingo. But at least I'll be remembered by someone Smile. Pecker head is by far one of the least insulting things I have been called by someone. As Richard Petty once said though, "if after your gone & they still remember you, at least you know you did your job."

Back to the 2 minute question, out here in Calif., if I'm not mistaken, the officials don't start the 2 minute clock until the track is clear and all the cars are running and lined up.  Then thet start the clock.  I thought it was that way every where.  Since everyone is saying that when Sweet was ready to go, the cars on the track were not lined up correctly yet, so his 2 minutes on the clock hadn't even started yet.

Not sure exactly, but that may be a possibility as well with the Outlaws.  I believe Knoxville is a little different------isn't it 2 laps after the field is realigned?----maybe someone knows the answer to that one?

Either way, I have never let myself be too concerned with all of that.  My job happens Monday-Friday each week-----I'm going to drink beer and watch the races.  Someone else is on the clock being paid to make sure the rules are being followed at the track.  Smile

The WoO 2 minute clock is BULLSH*T. What did Sweet get, like 10-15 minutes?

10-15 minutes is just enough to take a piss and grab something at the concession stand.  No complaints when that happens.  wink

I believe with the World of Outlaws, the 2 minute clock starts when you get to the work area. But as other people have said, it is a minimum of two minutes and can be longer. In this incident Sweet and others got more than two minutes. In person it seemed like forever. But before passing judgement I wanted to watch the replay first. This is the series of events as I seen them on the replay.

-Crash happens. Red flag thrown.

-Macedo, Sweet and both Madsens enter the pits.

-2 minute clock starts

-After 3 minutes, Macedo goes back on the track as engines are beginning to fire.

-After 3 minute 30 seconds, Ian Madsen goes back to the track as engines continue to fire.

-After 3 minute 45 seconds, All cars are fired off & Sweet better hurry because he has little time left according to the announcer

-After 5 minutes 30 seconds announcer says there is no way he can make it.

-After 7 minutes he was ready to be pushed off but damage to the push bar, that wasn't repaired, wouldnt allow him to be pushed

-After 8 minutes another push truck with a low push bumper was able to push Sweet off to rejoin the field

So Sweet actually got 8 minutes to fix his car. About 4 minutes of that time was after all of the cars were fired.  They were dragging their feet getting restarted and lined up but he probably did get a little extra time. Not a conspiracy theory, just an opinion based on what I saw and not that big of a deal. Especially to the ones who paid to see the defending champion race.

Also, what the hell was Macedo doing. He drove straight into sweet going the wrong direction causingthe flip. I know he was trying to keep it  fired but you probably shouldn't go in the wrong direction to do it.

I'll try to say this as nice as possible....  This is called a forum...  thats a place for people to make comments...  My initial post said nothing insulting to anyone...  In fact if you actually read the thing I stated it was not a big deal...  Yet, as if you are practicing to be nascar wannabe's  or something by proving your loyality to the mother ship you attack anyone who might even think something that was not previously approved.  Out you came like little trolls.... There really was no need for telling people to stay home or even pass your entrance test to get in...In fact I think most tracks would take the opposite position on fans. (just guessing)   This is dirt track racing.. everyone who sits in the stands has a right to think whatever they want...  you don't have the right, the authority or the plain chops to stop that...  what you can do... is start posting in a similiar manner to how you probably talk to people face to face..... which I would assume to be close to reasonable.  (I assume).  Then you can share information and thoughts...agree, disagree whichever is fine..  but as a fan.... I own just as much of this world as you do....  so you can either apply a llttle common sense or go on being, well I aready covered that part before....

Myself, like Nick and many others on this forum, enjoy comments and discussion.  What many of us don't like is constant complaining and conspiracy theories---not that you don't have the right to post them.  However, If you want to fill it with complaints and conspiracy, expect replies to those comments.

We live in a nation where no one can find any good in anything that anyone does.  Just enjoy the fact that we have racing.  (for now)

Did I even reply to you in my first comment? No I didn't and really was not talking to you or anyone specifically. I saw people, didn't even look at what the "names" were complaining about things and saying things that were essentially inaccurate. Something that is done a lot on this topic because people like to spread conspiracy theories out that they tried to "help" one of their drivers out when in reality, since I was there, it is not what happened and even said what the rule was and what actually happened. Meaning 2mins minimum and the cars at the back of the pack were taking too long to get aligned.

YOU, were the one who said "the sound you hear is everyones collective eyes rolling" and was mad that I stated what the rule was for some odd reason apparently because it refuted your opinion. Then you proceeded to babble and type incoherently as many pointed out on here and insulted yourself. I didn't call you any names or even point you out specifically, if I wanted to do that I would have replied directly to your comment. You called yourself a lowlife, stupid, and a dummy not me. You brought up staying away from people because you would bother them, I didn't say stay home I just thanked you for your decision. And I do talk on here the same way as I speak to people face to face. I'm not sorry I hurt your delicate little feelings and offended you because I don't care. I find it funny that you say common sense when your the one saying that their was an ulterior motive to giving a driver more time in the work area when in fact there wasn't. Happened right in front of me so apparently your the one who needs to apply common sense. Call me whatever name you want peckerhead whatever doesn't matter to me what a clueless faceless person thinks of me especially one who continues to call himself names and then blame it on other people. If an idoit (first direct insult) has a negative opinion on me it does not effect my life at all.

Just ditch the 2 minute clock all together and quit holding up the racing. The amount of time you get is what was needed to clear the wreck and get them lined up again. Things get painful to watch when the race gets drawn out because of all this time allowed to work on cars.

That wouldn't hurt my feelings either.  What is lost in this entire situation is there have been almost no instances of cars winning after visiting the work area.  So, the entire complaint about the work area is really irrelavent.

I agree with you on the enjoy the racing part... but..  there is a difference in the discussion of one incident at one track and how did you put it, "constant complaining and conspiracy theories"... this is dirt track racing for god's sake.... theories have their place but thats more for string and relativity not dirrt track racing.... but I appreciate the civility of your comments....

ok... lets just roll with you obviously are a Pecker head and I'm pretty ok with that.... will laugh about it for days in fact as my friends are getting a big kick out of you... go nick..   you are truely better than anything on TV right now... thanks for the entertainment...  you should post more often and remember to tell everyone to stay off your grass...    and just so you know, Peckerhead is more of a classification than a name....

you know I have felt the same way for years.  I understand some of the points stuff but that system could be adjusted quickly in one owners meeting I think.    Even if I'm a top team as in capable of winning... whats the point?  I got from 22nd to 17th maybe?  I can see a difference of say the 2nd lap flat tire versus the 15th lap isse but any difference in payout is not even close to the wear and tear on the car in the majority of cases..... a reasonable alternative possibly would just be locking the points of maybe 15th back at a certain level so they are not forced to go through all that...  although I'll say it was fun to watch the 49 team (and friends) tear into it....but remember that issue is not there in like 99% of the cases..

You're welcome for the entertainment although it's not that hard to entertain the senseless.  Plus I don't have to tell anyone to stay off my grass no one is coming on my grass never said anyone could or could not be on my grass. You're the one who got offended and threw a fit like a little school girl and insinuated that you would stay away because your a bother, I just thanked you for offering that. And pecker head is by far the least offensive thing I have been called or classified. Even the more offensive things that I have been called didn't bother me because I learned long ago it's mind over matter. I don't mind, cause you don't matter

That again makes no sense, if you tell someone I would ask you ______ the but is usually followed up by the justification as to why you already knew the answer & didn't ask, not a direct quote from someone else. You know I'm over 13, your still just being a baby & hypocritical about insults. You were mad because I disproved your little theory, and that I insulted you even though you did it yourself, I just agreed.

I would ask if you were an honor roll student but considering you called yourself a low life and dumb, I'll take it they just passed you along for someone else to deal with

I wouldn't mind it completely but I think when it comes to WoO or All Stars it would be a hard sale for them to some of the teams due to the point implications. Macedo for instance would probably be further down had they just got on with the show & other examples throughout the year. Some small issues such as damaged wing or cut tire could be repaired & guys could gain a few spots which is worth money or maintain their position depending on the amount of lap cars. 2mins in the grand scheme of things isn't that long, it's the restarting & sorting out of position that takes the time
