Yep I heard similar rumors was supposed to be a big announcement on Monday February 3rd. Was gonna be a well known car owner, one would have to think Stewart, Rudeen, Quiring or Lunstra.
Also heard an all NEW track is to be built in the Sioux Falls area.
But here we are mid February and..... nothing.
I am planning on a lot of trips to Jackson Motorplex this summer, we need to support our tracks that ARE still active or we won't have any.....

Rumor is an entirely new track is to be built within 10 miles of Sioux Falls. With the totally screwed up state of the country (Sioux Falls John Morrell packing plant is now called the 4th biggest Coronavirus "hot spot" in the country) unfortunately all of this had to be put on the back burner until the USA returns to a "normal" status.
Would make sense for a builder of a new track to show up at the auction and buy stands, buildings, video boards, concession, PA, lighting equipment CHEAP....

There will be no auction. There will be no entirely new track. Money has dried up in the auto racing industry. Sponsors are broke. Drivers are unemployed. The future of auto racing will be a shell of its former self.
