California still has lots of races until November!
This weekend is the Norcal Posse Shotout at Placerville and then:
Fall Nationals at Chico
Kern County Raceway KWS 410 show/ Adobe Cup at Petaluma
Cotton Classic at Kings in Hanford
Trophy Cup in Tulare
410/360 finale at Stockton in November
Mel Hall memorial at Marysville
Hangtown 100 midget race at Placerville
Turkey night at Ventura
There might be a few I am forgetting, but California has racing from late February until late November. We don't get too many rain outs since we get very little summer rain, but the past few years we have had wet springs that did cause rain outs.
Looking forward to the new Golden State King of the
West series schedule!
Winged sprintcars = the fastest and most exciting
racecars on dirt!

I usually use a couple different groups on Facebook, search twitter, and use this board & pitgate board. Can usually find postings about all the events around the country.
I will say though that after attending the Knoxville Nationals the past few years, I do go through a small little depression period even though there are plenty of races going on here in Ohio. I went to the Brad Doty Classic & it was a fun night but i didn't feel the same way I normally do going to the track prior to Knoxville. Before August I'm counting down the days before a race & the excitement builds each day. After Knoxville I usually plan on going to about 5 races but usually maybe make it to 2. Just don't feel the motivation afterwards. Plus all the people I usually go with end up going to football games come September & living in Columbus OH I have to hear about OSU football every waking minute of the day. I am looking forward to 4 crown though.

I hear ya Nick. I am depressed every year leaving Knoxville. For me personally, my spectating season is over mid-August.
I have summers off for the most part, so Nationals signals the start of the work year which brings 50-60 hour weeks----not complaining----after all, I get the summer off! Also, kids get back to school and sports, etc. So, the excitement of the Nationals is quickly replaced by depression when I head back up the highway towards the interstate on Sunday morning.

Living in PA all my life I never really thought about racing slowing down early in other parts of the country. We are fortunate enough (or stupid enough) to get excited to freeze our balls off in late February/March watching 410's. Then if you start to get bored with regular shows the All Stars come through in April, followed by the Outlaws in May, then the Weikert at Port, then USAC a few weeks later, followed by PA Speedweek, more Outlaws a few weeks later, the Dream Race at Port, then into the best time of the year, PA's month of Money. Labor Day weekend and the 50 weekend at Port were awesome this year, I missed Selinsgrove but will be at the Dirt Classic, hopefully make it to Lernerville for the Outlaws next week, then the Natty Open. We sure are spoiled here, no matter what you read from all the bitchers.

Great post......kind of puts things into perspective for me as a Pa fan. Thanks for laying out our season. We are fortunate!

And Port still has their two day WoO show at the end of October, just before the World Finals.

Yes, PA is spoiled. I like to stoke the fire from time to time, but deep down inside, most of us are a little jealous as well.

We might be spoiled in pa as far as the amount of racing, but our weekly car counts, crowds and competition is way down.

Trade ya. My local track looks to be getting about 180-200 bushels to the acre this year---for about the 5th year in a row.

Ours had a fireworks display for a race that never was, and nothing more.

Sioux Falls S.D.- we consider ourselves to be Upper Plains(?) I dunno. I'm kinda jealous of those folks that still have some racing season left. Back before an ego killed local racing, we would have racing up until about now. The local track that did start back up- with RaceSaver Sprints & such- rained out something like 11 times.|
Side note: I was in Indianna a lot of years ago to visit friends. My wife didn't quite pay attention to the signs when you enter the state. She wondered why they called it the Hoser State.

Yea, Upper Plains makes sense for SD. Iowa is between Missippi & Missouri rivers, rolling hills, much greener than the Great Plains, but still called Midwest... but wait, everybody here knows that!
There are still a few big races left in Pa.. but its a 5 hr. drive from here in Connecticut, usually only do it for multi day events, & its getting harder to leave 97 yr. old Mom alone

It's all but a wrap here in Iowa! 2019 seemed like = rainout, rainout, rainout, race, rainout rainout rainout, time for Winter again.
Crazy year with the weather

I'm pretty optomistic for the Grove being a decent show tomorrow. Should be about 35 410s or so plus a makeup feature for the 358's and a full program for them. I'm hoping it widens out enough for decent features.

I wish... its hard enough getting her outside to watch a sunset
& she thinks racing is stupid (she's probably right, but i enjoy it)
But good one anyway!

We haven't heard from the Ohio guys yet... they seem to be getting the best cars counts
Is 4 Crown this weekend? Thats a true extravaganza... WoO, Allstars, Usac midgets , sprints & Silver Crown. the one time I went Tony had the track worked for damn near 2 hours after qualifying. I kept falling asleep during the last race, SC feature. Every time I woke up Chris Windom was still ahead, so i wisely decided to leave rather than fall asleep at the wheel. But i'd go again in a minute, if i could!
