I'll be damned if I'm going to donate to a team that has won some pretty healthy purses over the past four or five years like they have....and the purses were won at home none the less without added expenses of travel. If they choose not to race the big dogs at THE big dog event, they can stay home and watch.

That is a shocking post from you. No one would have ever guessed that. You are just about the worst poster on here when it comes to wanting to spend team's money and slamming them when they don't run the schedule you think they should.

Last year somebody posted on here about buying T-shirts to subsidize 69K trip to Knoxville. I went for it, got 2. They didn't go....

No big loss, they're cool T-shirts. I still hope they go (kinda like being a Cub fan? wink )

But fuhgettabout GoFundMe

I could not agree with you more!  I am sure they have more money to go than some that go and don't have the $$.

Where did you read I was trying to spend the teams money? Where did you read I was trying to set their schedule? All I'm saying is IF they want to go to Knoxville, of all the teams in PA they sure as hell ought to be able to go on their own dollar! Now if you are so inclined to donate your dollars so they'll go, have at it.

I would have no problem donating to them for the $20k, but I've seen some drivers that would likely already be at race asking for donations in their name. In all honesty it all goes to the NSCHOF so it's a win win, but personally I'd prefer to donate to a team, that wouldn't normally be at the NATS.
Thanks to Richard Marshall and the NSCHOF, and for giving me something, worth while to read about on Hoseheads.

Why is everybody complaning about them getting the Priorty Money last I saw they were not even in the top five in fact a local car with no traveling expense was on top of the list,I dont care how they get funded as a Pa. fan I would love to see them at the big races.

Hey xxxer if Donnie told you why he wont go to Selinsgrove why not tell us it must not be a secret?

I think what a lot of this boils back down to the Posse/WoO rivalry. The PA fans ham up the 69K as being the Outlaw Killer and they have had tremendous success doing it in their backyards, but for the rest of the country to take notice, they'll need to take that game on the road, and the best place to prove it is the biggest and most prestigious race of the year.

No travelling expense is probably right. Would that 30 year old box truck even make it to Knoxville? They spend their budget wisely in making the car fast and choose their schedule wisely according to their budget too. Still I'd love to see them give it a go. Yeah they'd be longshot but they've been really fast the last few years and Lance has been pretty fast at Knoxville before. I know it's one of LD's dreams to win the Nationals.

Good question, Donnie has 35 wins and 2 championships at Selinsgrove and Lance has 14 wins there. Selinsgrove is hard on equipment and motors but I don't think it's any worse than any other big, fast half-mile. I know the reason he quit racing there is because Reitz supposedly stiffed him on purse money when he was the promoter. Why the 69k still doesn't run there IDK. The last time Donnie raced there, he was leading speedweek but finished like 9th or 10th in the feature and didn't win the title(late 90's?). Oh well, life goes on and I'm just glad he still fields a car even though he no longer drives.

I'm not going to go into detail because I've yet to hear him discuss it in public or anything and I don't go around running my mouth unless I'm told to as far as a private conversation is concerned. But the long and short of it, he doesn't like the track and since it's his team that he's paying the bills for, he's entitled to not go there.

Hats off to Priority Aviation for sponsoring this.

I guess it depends on who you root for. Two 50 year olds and a 80 year old that put every extra penny into the racecar, riding to Knoxville in a 30 year old hauler. Or million dollar Outlaw teams riding to the races in $500,000 haulers, motorcoaches or their own private plane.

Please mention Lance Dewease & the 69K when you call or sign up NSCHOF Membership Link

When I said no travelimg expense I was refering to one of the McCals being on top at that time I am not sure who is on top now I havent seen anything lately. As for the truck I am sure with all of Lances connections they could work out a deal to use someone elses trailor for the week.

Last time the 69k was at Selinsgrove was when Ryan Smith drove it ,I know Kassidy ran slingshots on the small track not sure how often I have never been to a small track race, but I dont think she ran the 305 even though it was on her schedule.

As for Donnies reason with all the improvements and new promoters i cant think of any good top secret reason for them not racing there.

Yea this would be the very last team that I would donate any funds to.

Doesn't change the fact that ever since the Dream Team formed, everyone has been begging them to go Knoxville, fans and haters alike.

Don't really recall any other teams in the running being mentioned, much less constantly being bombarded about not making the trip.

Balog and Carson McCarl ran 12 & 13th in the D Main last year, and Sammy 16th in the B.

Here's the chance. Might not be another. #69KTOKNOXVILLE NSCHOF Membership Link

Blazer-Here are a few facts I think you have wrong:

-This team has not been together 5 years, it has only been 3.

-Any donations made in 69K/Lance's name go directly to the Knoxville Hall of Fame, not their racing team.

-As far as pocketing money, the car owner gets less then 50% of the purse, plus has all of the bills to pay.

-As far as winning in their backyard, when was the last time a Knoxville regular won the Nationals?  Brian Brown has not even been able to get that done yet....

Fine, I stand corrected on the years w Lance. There were other donations talked about. My post followed a post about a possible fan based Go Fund Me that could be created. Did you miss that? Must have.  But, why is it that certain braggers from your Posseland need to throw the Knoxville Nationals into the mix so often. Do you honestly think we don't know who the winners have and haven't been?  When do you see any of us in the midwest bragging about the accomplishments of our local drivers or making claims that are exaggerated?   We are quite happy knowing that two of our regulars that were Knoxville track champions have nine Knoxville National titles between them....Wolfgang and Lasoski. And yeh the Posse has had success at the WGN. Not the same thing unless you stretch of course.

As far as the money The 69K team has won in recent years, who with that kind of success IS NOT at the Nationals every year? And there are probably sixty-seventy teams with far less that are there. Donnie isn't the only owner paying bills! Just sayin........And I would like to see them there, too.

Actually "numb nuts" Ironman is wrong. I wanted to be sure before I went any further w my response, even though I thought I had it right to begin with. It's spelled out on the NSCHoF website under "Donate". Priority Aviation is the sponsor. It's about attracting as many members as possible to the Hall of Fame. There's a special membership application where the fan can desigate their favorite driver to recieve the $20,000.00 sponsorship money to participate in the Knoxville Nationals. The driver with the most designations wins the sponsorship money From Priority Air. Totally separate from the money being donated to the NSCHoF.

You don’t have to join as member to be included in this fundraiser. ANY donation amount is acceptable and applied to the driver you designate. Even $5.

If you don’t want to donate to a certain driver, just donate your money to the HoF and the money still goes towards paying off the Bryan Clauson Suite Tower, that in itself is worthy of the donation!
