Last year there was some asshole who tweeted at Rico saying that he "came up a little short" at the races the night before. Rico responded with some fire telling the clown "Yeah just like your bedroom game". I'm sure he has dealt with people being disrespectful before but like most everyone here has said, we appreciate Rico as a gasser and hard racer.

If anyone doesnt allow Rico's stats to speak for himself, you might be a scumbag pile of shit. You dont need to like him an ounce but what he has accomplished in sprint car racing needs to be respected. I would tell anyone talking trash about Rico that unless their sprint car racing statistics are better than his, their trash talking has no merrit. The world is full of trash, and those that know they are trash will do anything to get under everyone elses skin.

Identifying features are what make the world interesting. You have drivers who are hard to recognize in a crowd cause they are plain like most others. Then you have drivers who have firey red hair, extremely long hair, are super tall or super short. It makes them easier to identify because they are unique. Imo thats a good thing. Some look like bikers or navy seals. Brad Sweet beside Donny Schatz at the last podium pic gave me another trait to help me identify Brad in a crowd. I hate the saying variety is the spice of life but I think it fits here. I sure am glad the whole world doesnt look like..... You for example lol
Derogatory remarks toward tall people or blondes is no more acceptable than short people. God gave you the right stuff. Now when you choose to do weird things with that stuff it might be a different story.
Even though I may not know you, I
care what most of you think!

Since im out here in California it's been a real pleasure watching Rico's racing carrer take shape.
His father is a real class act as well as the whole Abreu family.
I was really looking forward to seeing him run that midget main after seeing how good he was getting around in the sprint car.
It's always good to see a racer come back and get on the horse again after getting bucked.
Real sad when he crashed in group quailifying hopfully he will give it another spin next year.
I was at both his chilli bowl wins amazing energy.....
Rico shows real racer passion you can tell he really loves to race.

He was injured in a USAC midget heat race this past Saturday at Eldora. Seems to me I saw a tweet from him saying he would be back in two weeks. Don't know what the injury was.

What gets me is that everybody pronounces it "Ay-broo", unlike baseball player Bobby "A- bray-oo". I asked his uncle about that at Cocopah a couple of years ago. He said that over the years its become Americanized or Anglicized. Their background is Portuguese.... wine makers, makes sense....
