The problem on Friday with the track so fast that if you didn't start in the first two rows of your heat you didn't have much chance to quailfy with that field. The heats were really boring. The feature was decent with passing although not as much as it seems with attrition which was high for the quality of the cars in it. There usually are not that many cars dropping out of races like that.
|
I don't care about the heats. I would rather have a great feature and boring heats any day. I don't go to the races for the heats......I go for the feature.
Let's go Sprint Car Racing!

I watched the highlights and they were running more than one groove. Like I said mother nature threw them a curve not their fault. Track was fast a little too fast. For the track to be at its best high 15 second brackets for TT and low 16 second brackets. Any slower and the track will be used up before the heats are over....like most Saturday nights this year. However, the last few were much better a lot more water in the track.
Aaron +14 and he didn't pass a single car
Paul +12 and he didn't pass a single car
Carson +11 and he didn't pass a single car
Mike +10 and he didn't pass a single car.
The only ones that pass anyone was lucas & Brock....now that has got to be the funniest thing I have ever read!!
I bet you have some swamp land somewhere you are selling too.
|
You got all that from watching the highlights ???

No, I also went to the results and saw how much drivers advanced through the feature. Highlights do help it show where the cars are running and shows the different lines drivers take.

Where did you see how many cars each driver passed or in this case didn't pass ? Just wondering. All I could find was finish position and start position, ASCoC site and Port Royal site ....

I got it from three different areas, results, highlights, and a very good friend was at the track. He told me in the feature was multilple grooves. That is all you can ask for when running a feature. However, not the tracks fault it was a little to wet. If you keep the speeds in the high 15 second bracket in warmups and time trials you are in for a great feature. I don't care about the heats. The feature is what I pay to see not the heats.

Suppose maybe tracking the drivers that bettered their start position, and those who went backwards from their start position would have the answers? Think about it.

Cant fault the track crew for the track prep it rained for about three hours Saturday afternoon so I understand why they did not water ,but even on a nice day track would have been bad since they did not dig it up Friday Night.

Boy, am I a dumbass. Here I am thinking that the best way to give an informed opinion of a race was to actually go to the track and watch the race. I mean, that way I could see who was passing whom, what conditions the track were in, and pick up on some things that don't always show up on camera.
God damn, if I only knew I could just sit at home and check the start/finish order online and look at lap times....... If I only did that, I too, could tell people who were actually at the track about how the race really was. Think of the money I could have saved. Think of all the people online who would always look forward to me setting them straight.... I know now.
Thanks for showing me the light everyone.

Obviously, you didn't read the previous post's, but I do appreciate your concerns for my education lol. I was just trying to figure out how this guy came up with these drivers moving up that many spots without passing anyone ....
Actually I did fail math, however I did pass sex education. If you don’t believe me just ask your Mom ….

By the looks of it you don't go to many races anyhow. But you sure do put a lot of research into what happens at Port, AND, box scores don't tell the story most of the time. Along with others opinions.

It is just not Port. I research a lot of tracks and see results and watch highlights. I also watch the outlaws a lot on dirtvision. There have been a lot of track in the last month or so that I wouldn't want to go to I have seen on dirtvision. Horrible track condition....like a slip and slide.
I am starting to want to go back to Port but they still havn't proven they have the track the way it should be. They are getting much closer, about the time I trust them they will have a track like Saturday night and a track like that I would rather watch grass grow or paint dry about as exciting as 17 to 18+ second laps in time trials.

I have been to Port over 100 times in my life and I can tell you when the lap times are slow in warm-ups it = no fun racing for the fans. When the times are faster at the beginning of the night = great feature....buckle up everyone.
Hard black and dry early in the night or by the middle of the heats are horrible track conditions = horrible feature = slip and slide. Yes, you can tell a lot from lap times and when they are slow early you can bet the feature will suck!....it always has and always will.
I have posted this on Ports Twitter page and on their facebook page. It always gets deleted. I have sent messages to other people there as well. If they get the track like is has been the last few races....example, the first Saturday of the fair mostly every week. I will be their and not say a word....until then I will not go to that place.
