Dream.....excuse......dream......excuse......dream.......excuse.......Dream Team is right for some of you. Get over it they aren't going to Knoxville. They are the top team in Posse land......that's it.  Won every big race???? Yeh in Posse land. Best winning percentage in the country? Maybe....against who? Dobmiere does pretty good picking cherrys at home too, these days. I understand the importance of Davey Brown Sr and in my opinion he's the catalyst of the team.....not Lance.....and not Donnie. I don't think Lance carries the car, I think the car carries Lance. Davey's achievements far outweigh anything those other two ever did. Davey has won all over the country, in a very very big way, lest you forget. I'd think a top ten performance would be the best they could do at the Nationals. Which would still be damn good! Throw in a top eight on their qualifying night and a top eight on Friday night to make the show and they earn from $20,000 to $25,000 for the week. But........

Yep, I remember it taking 7 freaking restarts to get it done. Good luck at Knoxville where that isn't happening and he would never get out of the C Main to begin with.

Judging by your profile pic, this is gonna hurt. Seven restarts, seventy restarts.....he beat him, lmao.

Two days in Ohio is not a week in Iowa.  The three major players in that team are a combined 200 years old and are already Hall of Fsmers.  I’d love to see them in Iowa, but list The pros and cons of a team like that running a limited local schedule on theirl terms winning nearly every big money show versus  making that trip to Iowa and see which one really makes sense.  We want to see how they would do l, but they have to do what’s best for them you can’t argue with the results

Realistically the trip to Iowa could be limited to 3 days. Thursday-Sat. If they really are the dream team they wouldn't need to run Friday either.

C mon guys, just let it go. If they do not want to go, why do people gotta bitch and bash about it. If they have no desire to be there, so be it, can't fault them for that. Once you all pay the bills for that car I am sure they will go wherever you wanted them to.

I am a bowler, and a pretty decent local bowler to boot, carrying a 220 average, however, I have no desire to bowl the US open, couldn't honestly tell you why, I just do not want to. Same concept, different sport.

Thought y'all live in the land of the "free"? Free choice to do as you please? Extend your "liberty" to your fellow countrymen!

My competetive nature would drive me to try the Nationals at least once just for the resume if nothing else. Maybe these men have nothing to prove to themselves except that they can be happy without traveling the same road as everyone else with a sprint car. Maybe that helps them live "glorious and free".

Jmo eh!

A couple things here.

First, why do people bitch about it?  Because of all the bragging and carrying on by all of the fans that this is the best team in the country.  If so, they should have no problem running out to Knoxville for a quick 150K payday.

Speaking of paying the bills, I know for a fact that many have come on and said they would be more than happy to fund the trip for them, so you can eliminate that also.

2 years ago, this team made a statement saying that they would love to go to Knoxville, but with the short notice, expense and other things, they wouldn't be able to make it.  Did I mention this was 2 years ago?  If they havn't found a way to put this trip together in the past 2 years, it tells us that they probably really don't want to go, and more than that, are avoiding it.

They have had many great accomplishments the past couple years.  In the state of PA that is.  The fans want to see how they stack up against the rest of the country on the National spotlight stage.  Otherwise, the term "dream team" pretty much stays local.

Good luck with your bowling.

The bitching and bashing as you put it isn't about them not going....it's about those who are attempting to hand them a trophy without them even being there. A few wishful thinkers hiding behind the ruse that they are just having fun and stirring the pot.....wink

Lance has raced Nationals before, best finish 8th, worst, 19th. Nobody's saying he's a favorite, just that he would have a chance. Who would have predicted Jason Johnson or Tim Schaffer to win?

We all know that Davey is getting on in years, & according to recent SC&M article, Donny still has repercussions from his many concussions (oooh, 2 syllable rhyme...) I'm sure Lance would go, given the opportunity. In his webpage it says for "goals": "To win the Knoxville Nationals and become the first 4-time winner of the Williams Grove National Open"

OF COURSE its up to them.... we're just fans hoping for more

If he stays home (looks like the case), he can still beat the Outlaws at National Open....

A couple points about this topic:

1. Facts are not excuses - A 90 year old crew chief, 50+ year old driver and a owner that has had a head injury that probably in unpredictable on a day to day basis.  So traveling 20+ hours one way probably isn't the best idea at least for two of the three.

2. Lance seemed to do well at Knoxville, got his car in the show in a fairly regular basis.

3. Mansfied debate is idiotic, they had a rock go through the radiator the opening night and never fully recovered.  And this is racing where even Steve Kinser and Donny Schatz had to take provisionals from time to time.

4. Can't say they are a one track team.  The 69k hadn't been to Lincoln in 10+ years and the first time they went as this trio they won.

5. Again the Manfield debate is idiotic, needed to be mentioned twice for the intellectually challenged that don't seem to grasp this.

Who cares enough to have these silly debates? Why can't we just be happy that the team is running well? All three of them could retire right now and still be hall of famer's. Personally I do think it'd be cool to see them go. I'm just as much of a Posse fan as anybody but I don't think they would have a legit chance to win. They might make the A or run mid-pack in the B, barring some circumstances mechanical issue/wreck.

I agree.....I too would like to see them there and I'd be happy if they did really well. They are a team that carries the flag so to speak from their part of the country. And those are the types of teams the Nationals was meant to draw.

If someone says the 69K was a "threat" at Mansfield, they didn't watch the races either day.

What "one track" are their cars and motors designed for?

Lance made 25k in just two races in last two weeks. For all you haters name another part time team with old men kickin ass like they are. When was last time a local drove by Schatz to win??

As far as mansfield goes, check lap times in the NQ race compared to the A main.  Lance was running better laps in NQ race that was ran after the A than all of the cars at the end of the A.  Bad start with mechanical issues got them behind for entire show.  Look at facts thats all.

More random gibberish:

"If you can't run with the big dogs, stay at the Port" - well, they actually can beat the big dogs AND just stay at the Port - or the Grove. Fine by me.

Tow half-way across the country and spend what you'd likely win by staying home just getting/staying there - no tires, fuel, etc, etc??? Great gig if you can get it, but the 69K does not have the resources. They can beat the best in their own back yard - on a limited budget.   And, it's very likely that the best you'll do, if the planets align, and you ran every outlaw race for the last 10 years,  is second to that pesky 15 car.

I'm not a chest thumping posse guy, but in case you haven't noticed, Central Pennsylvania has the best sprint car racing in the country by volume and this team and members of it have a large volume of wins. Not knocking any other place in the country but you really can't argue that the best sprint car racing in the country is in a 50 mile radius of Harrisburg, PA.

Not one member of the Dream Team has a damn thing to prove. Sorry, but there ain't gonna be no asterisks next to their names if they don't go to Knoxville.

A few things to think about here. The dream team did not name themselves. The dream team has never once said they were the best anything. They have never said they could win the Nationals. You guys have such thin skin it gets you angry that three old guys from Pa are doing well and a few of their fans fan the flames by saying they are the best ever, lol get over yourselves and enjoy the races.

I don't care about dream teams, box truck haulers, old crew chiefs, the Port, the 86' Kings Royal, powder baby blue or Race Car Johnny.

All I want is a T-shirt that says:   'No Drinkin'. No Lincoln'

I have been self employed most of my life and this thread reminds of time that I was asked; Why didn't you do that the way someone else did it? My answer was, because I am the Boss and I have worked hard enough for long enough to have earned the right to do it as I damned well please. I am not a fan of the driver of this team but I suspect that they all feel the same way I do.
