Beats the hell out of all the "trash talk" and "juvenile celebrating" that goes on in too many other sports, so what the hell.....let 'em celebrate atop the sprint car.....after all.....in the "trash talk" sports the participants are far from risking their lives!

I sometimes prefer roll cage dances over wing dances but both can be entertaining.

Really? So we bitch and complain about drivers having no personality and when they do show personality, we bitch and complain again.
For all the sheet everyone gets offended by these days a driver celebrating shouldn't be one them. He/she isn't saluting something, isn't doing some type of theatrical dance (NFL).

So if its only okay for the big races, what do we consider a big race? What happens when a local wins at a WOO race...or are we considering all WOO races big? I'm doubting it.

I have to respectuall disagree. Most of the drivers I hear almost always thank their crew, sponsors, and more.

The fans like to be entertained in multiple methods.  Wing dancing is an additonal form of entertainment to the individuals who pay the bucks to fills the stands.  Let the drivers give the fans what many want.

This is a bit, right?  Mission accomplished......you got a bunch of Hosers all wound up.

BTW---Hope you don't watch NBA, NFL, NHL, or MLB.

If you are serious, I agree with a previous poster.......you sound like an absolute blast to hang out with.

With the ammount of nose wings falling down I would like to see drivers stand on their nose wings after a race to show if they have their nose wings attached solid.

Jeez!  Whatever happened to the idea of going on Hoseheads to talk about sprint car racing? Now it seems on one can have a thought or opinion about darned near anything without getting called names. So people have differeing opinions. Is that reason enough to get nasty and personal?

Here's my take. In watching WoO recaps on YouTube, I started to wonder if it was written into the contract that the winning driver must, as Johnny Gibson says, "go up top" and wave the checkered flag while standing on the fuel cell. I think the best post race winner I saw climbed the fence to sign autographs for a row of kids along the fence and have a beer with the fans. That was years ago and it was a stock car.

Good, bad or indifferent, "going up top" has kind of lost it's newness. I don't agree that having that opinion makes me any less of a human being than you big maroons.

How long does a wing dance last?  40 seconds?  It takes me longer to brush the dust off my clothes.  Place fingers in ears, close eyes for 40 and problem is solved.

None of that was new with the invent of WOO. Back in the early/mid 1960's drivers were excited as well in non-cage cars. Salutes to Indy..all kinds of stuff. Actually the formality and build-up of excitement was better back then in the IMCA sprint  car days because the announcing and presentation was so good.

I agree try something new...have drivers come over after races and sign autographs for the kids and fans. Make it easy access. Build some new stars.

I didn't realize that in the year 2017 that this was a cause of irritation for people. Everyone is entitled to their opinon as to how other people who risk their lives to entertain us choose to celebrate after they accomplish a feat whether it is a feature win with the World of Outlaws, Knoxville Nationals, or some local show in the middle of the country that only 1000 people attend. I would say a vast majority of people have more things that irritate them in life as to whether how someone celebrates after they win a sprint car race.

Glad that things must be going well for any individual that this causes concern on though as if this list of worries, then life must be going well for you.

I personally don't care if a driver celebrates or not. I'm there to watch the races. Don't get why anyone would really have strong feelings either way,

Pretty much how I feel, yea , its become cliche, but big deal....

Let 'em celebrate however they want, they earned it

By the way, I'm in Homerville Ohio right now, about 45 minutes East of your home track, Attica

Ummm it's show business.....Nothing any more lack luster than a driver that gets out of the car casually waves at the people paying his way and going to the podium....Make a show out of it now matter how everday it is or not atleast make the fans feel that it's an important win

I could really care less if someone climbs up on the wing and dances all over it - I'm just waiting for the night someone slips and falls off and breaks an arm or leg or falls on someone else - Then the powers that be will tell them they can't do it any longer. If everyone remembers napcar put a stop to the drivers climbing on the roofs of their cars but then again those goof-balls were diving into the pitcrew members, from closer to the ground.

Let them climb.

It doesn't even register with me. As somebody said earlier, why this bothers anybody is befuddling to me.

People whined when Anthony Macri was star struck in his first career victory lane interview, now were upset about wing dances? What's next, the checkered flag pose is too common so we're gonna use the green flag instead? Come on now, I've heard about people complaining to hear themselves talk but this is just nonsense.
