I've always liked watching Sammy run because he is always exciting.  That said, I have to disagree that "he can take it too".  As much as I like to watch him run he doesn't deal well with someone else dishing out to him what he dishes out to them.  Chili Bowl a couple years ago with Kyle is a good example.  You could play that race back 100 times and not find what Kyle did wrong.

Still cool to see an old guy kick everyone's ass every once in a while though!

"he doesn't deal well with someone else dishing out to him what he dishes out to them"

I'm not talking about post race comments or antics in the pits, but how he drives his racecar on the track

Glad to hear that!  He needs to go where he can win......him and Hodnett running away from the competition!  Sammy and Hodnett knew they wouldn't have a chance at Lincoln!

Maybe you weren't informed, so I'll be the one to let you know. Both of the aforementioned drivers were present st Knoxville while all of your favorite drivers stayed at home. Oh and that Hodnett guy did a pretty spectacular job representing your home tracks. Just keep "telling it how it is".

No,he needs to be informed, jackass used to be a port homer, left when people around him got tired of hearing his calls, just like calls at other sporting events

I am informed.   How did Hodnett do in the A at Knoxville Saturday night?  Not very Well was going backwards until he brought out the caution.  He had a pretty good week going, but he still hasn't won in a 410 feature since June 10th.

No, I Ieft Port when they stopped knowing how to prepare the track with the proper amount of water.

And your last comment I could careless if you don't like my calls don't go to sporting events.  That is why I stopped going to Port, wasn't enjoying the racing there anymore.   Some coaches/fans think because they know you that you should give them every call.....wrong again!

Well, that is your problem, not mine!  Curt who?  I know you will not tell me you would rather hide behind just your first name....understand!  Do I know you?  If I do I don't know you very well! I could careless if you don't like it the way I see it.  If I don't like something I stop doing it or go somewhere else!  It is that simple sorry some people have a tough time figuring that out!  Sometimes I am vocal because Port could have great racing and it is the closest track to me.  But instead I have to drive 1.5 hours to see a great sprint race last night at Lincoln.  Second best feature I have seen all year.  Fred knows how to prepare a track!

I have been going to the races since the early 80's and own my home.   I have seen Slammer hit many of cars on the track over the years.  And then act like nothing ever happened.  Until something like this happened to him, then he throws a hissy fit.....see Knoxville 2017 - 360 racing both him and Kevin threw a fit.    I have seen it way too many times from the Slammer to be buffaloed by the likes of any of you on this board.   I only wish Steve Kinser would have put Sammy in his place more often cause he needed it!

Slammer always has someone to blame.....except himself and he is the one usually to blame!  I have walked by the Slammer at Knoxville 12 out of the last 17 years and he still has a sour expression on his face.  He looks like he is having so much fun signing those autographs.....Mr personality!

Sammy can dish it out, but Sammy can’t take it, that’s just how it is. I don’t hate the guy but I damn sure don’t love him. It’s hard to get on the Sammy wagon when you see him drive aggressive to get where he needs to go, but bitches, moans and groans when other drivers do it to him. That’s not made up shit from someone that’s not a Sammy fan, it’s real life shit. But if you’re a Sammy fan, you turn a blind eye to it and chalk it up as just racing and the drivers and fans that bitch about Sammy are just jealous.  He has brought a lot to the sport over the years, some good and some bad.

Wait, what about Hodnett going backwards in the A at Knoxville? He started 8th and never dropped below 10th, in fact I think he was 8th when he broke.

Ahhh, Bstraswer chimming in with yet another stupid comment. Yes, Sammy is running away from the competition, lmao. Would that be the same competition that he finished 2nd against just a night ago at Williams Grove???? Just checking the facts. I know those elude you most of the time. And alot of the same "competion" in which he was running top three against at Grandview till his tires went away in the final laps. Yes, Sammy is oh so scared of Montieth, Forsythe, Siegel, Haas and the other Linky homers, lol. Sorry Bhater26, the career and results speak for themselvers. The day one of those fierce Linky competitors comes close to winning the races or championships that Sammy has, and still can get in a car at 61 and win, give me a shout. Doubt I'll be hearing from you on that, lol. Can't wait till the Tuscarora 50 and Sammy behind the wheel of the 07 running for the $50k. Gonna be fun!!!!

Enjoyed watching Sammy for many years. Why he still does it surprises me. The guy has paid his dues. He got the name from not being afraid of any cushion out there, along with others also, if your a hater. O well I say because I bet more often than not all you haters watched him on the race track. I will say that after many shows you could find Sammy still in the pits for the fans that were coming into the pits. I guarantee you he stayed around much longer than the 11 car ever did. Karl had no patience to stick around and talk to people. Pitting beside Karl you  needed to understand that there was no small talk that was going to take place. Guys used to gather before the pit gates opened or at the hotel's because once that gate opened it was time to focus. I've seen  steve wreck, I've seen Sammy wreck and I've seen guys from many crews dive in to help. I've seen the welding truck called to there pits and both grab and set the dials to do there own chassis . Did they like each other, h*ll no, but they did respect each other.

Anyone that can get through the 100 or so drivers and be 1 of the final 24 cars in the main show of the biggest sprint car race in the world did not get there by luck in any shape, form or fashion. Gotta give it up to Hodnett and the others for making the show !!

He still fell to 10th that is going backwards he might have been back to eight, they still had 12 laps to race he probably would have faded again!....I was watching on the cushion.  He still hasn't won in a 410 since June 10th.

BStrawser26.........How many Lincoln regulars traveled to Knoxville?   Only one, Dietrich.  Did he make the A main?  No.  End of conversation.

BTW.......I was watching LIVE at Knoxville,  section BB, row 33........Hodnett was up to 6th in the A, broke while running 7th.

Time for you to do something most Posse drivers and fans DON'T do.......leave the porch.

I have been to Knoxville live 12 times and walked through the pits after the races.  Best racetrack I have ever been to.  Been to Eldora 4 times in my life.   I leave the porch.

I don't have a favorite driver anymore.  So I could careless who wins....as long as they don't take other drivers out.  Like the two drivers mentioned in this post!

I don't race nor do I have the desire to do so.  I also don't have the richest owners in central PA.  They have an outlaw budget like Stewart and Schatz and they still only have 3 wins this year.

Absolutely. He was running hard all race and was doing well. He certainly wasnt "going backwards".... I mean if you use Strawser's definition of going backwards, he was, but then again I think he's pretty much shown his intelligence for the entire thread.
