It is NOT two 25 lap races as there is no payoff at the end of the first one.

We have seen some great races with the 50 laps that would have went into history as boring if they had ended at 30 laps.

Whats everyone else's opinion here? I personally think they should do away with the 50 lap A main, which really is just two 25 lap sprints. They should just go back to a 30 or 40 lap race, non stop, no half time break! Or at least if it's still a 50 lapper, with the half time break, but you can't change tires,if you do you go to the rear. Also if it's two 25 lap races, why can't the field be reset & those, still running, are back on the lead lap to give those guys at the rear who were unlucky enough to be lapped in the first race half a chance. As all they are doing in the 2nd 25 lapper is riding around hoping someone drops out,to gain a spot.

Sorry you had to stay up so late with 50 lapper.  I love the 50 lap feature and the way it is done now is the best and only way to do it.

Originally I wasnt for the pit stop. Now I like it, and hope they keep it that way. Its one of a kind, as the Nationals should be. Glad its not just a regular 40 lapper like all the rest of the races throughout the season. Saw a few make good adjustments on the pit, some went backwards after. Cant ask for much more.

Keep it 50laps, heck increase to 60 here in a few years for the 60th and do two 30lap segments for all I care. Biggest race of the year, the more laps, the more fun. I would hate to see it go down to 30 laps again. To me it would just make it a regular ordinary sprint car race and the Knoxville Nationals is not any regular ordinary sprint car race. Should be won by the best driver and crew, the point system and the stop reward the best driver and crew.

If they want to, then maybe let them race until the first caution or red and have them work on the car then that way it is not so obvious as to when the stop will come. Makes the drivers guess as to when to run hard.

Here we go with this argument again. I love the 50 laps. Gives everyone in the field a chance to maneuver back and forth and creates more drama. Before, the farthest back someone came to win was Kinser from 14th, no you can have a guy like Schatz come from the B. Like it or not that is amazing. I remember before the race was 50 laps I used to be a little disappointed in the fact that with 30 laps, the biggest race of the year would be over in a matter of 15-20 minutes with even a couple yellows thrown in (its usually the cleanest race of the whole week). Plus, look at all the great finishes we have had since it has moved to 50. Some of the best races I've seen and judging by the sounds of the crowd over the cars on the track in recent years, I don't think many should be complaining.

It's definetly a sprint race by definition, only difference is it's two of them!    I like the format for a couple of different reasons, but one of them is that it gives guys that start towards the back a better chance a better chance of winning.   Jason Johnson was a good example of this on Saturday.   He start 17th and moved up well and I think it was 5th or 6th at the break.   He didn't advance any more in the second half, but at least he had a chance though.

If it's two races, then pay to win the first portion. The fact that it benefits you absolutely nothing to win the first portion, in turn actually makes it one race... The fact that guys just cruise to stay on the lead lap for 25 circles and then get a red flag to make adjustments, change tires and refuel makes it less like a sprint car race. Just my two cents. Its a spectacle, so there definitely should be something different or unique done, I just think it should be something different than what is currently done. It was a cool twist for the 50th, that just kind of stuck

Real race cars don't have fenders...
