Or maybe they just have their shit together and aren't cheating...

Well, it's already been proven they were illegal once.

Front tires and especially the left front does not do too much.  Changing compounds from the soft to slightly softer has little bearing on the car (as seen by their results the rest of the night).  Rear tires make a huge difference and I bet if tire samples were cut from 20 rear tires, at least 15 in my opinion if not more would have some sort of solution that isn't part of the tire when it leaves Hoosier.  I can't say what the rules are on tire prep and doping but I'm sure there is a ton of that going on.  As much as I like Lance Dewease and the 69K team, if they broke the rule then they broke the rule.  Even an honest mistake has to be punished and it looks like it did - certainly didn't hurt the team to put a different set of front tires on, he went from the rear to the front.  If tracks and competitors were really serious about this issue, they would take tire samples from the right rears and have them sent out but that would be a perfect world where time and resources are unlimited.  Again I do not know the rules of tire prep on the 410's is so maybe that is legal, maybe it is not.

Tell me then, why did they purposely run softer tires?

I don't know the crew personally but if one tire was the wrong type it stands to reason that maybe a tire for his daughters 305 got accidentally mounted.

It is my belief that this was done as a way to avoid approaching them about a much more serious issue. Frankly, I don't think there was anything wrong with the tires. But I do know for a fact, they have other issues they are looking to crackdown on and I think this was a pre-curser to it or maybe serves as an excuse for what they really were saying to the team

you win. everybody thinks, they must be cheating. you lose. everybody says, he's washed up. front tires on a sprint car are on the most part along for the ride. the softer compound front tire, at speed, will self clean itself somewhat easier over a harder tire. it was said the LF does not do to much. you better watch guys at 140 + that are lifting the RF and tell them that. IF and i say it again IF a driver has good feel i gaurantee you he can feel what those front tires are doing. you put a set of hard fronts on a sprint car and i betcha a driver is going to notice. so yes, front tires do matter. Lance and Donnie can play dumb all they want but i can say that Davey Brown new what tires were on the front of that car

I have always liked  the Spec Right Rear Tire Rule that allowed Teams to run whatever tires they wanted on the other Corners .I the The rule 4 same tires by  Manufactures  on All Corners  is a rule that benefits theTire Manufactures & not the lower dollar racers

The team and crew have said the whole time "everyone else was running the same front tire..."  Never said anything about it being an accident.  They mounted the 305 tire knowing what it was, another team or teams said something to officials and they got inspected and caught.

Love the conspiracy theories and this inside knowledge.  So basically Port Royal and the 69k team conspired to have Lance sent to the back of a 10k to win program to avoid looking into other issues?  Well if that is the case then you just questioned the integrity of the Port Royal Speedway (of which the 69k is not a regular competitor).  It might be possible that Davey Brown - who is regarded as a genius around the entire sprint car world, Lance Dewease - future sprint car hall of fame driver and Don Kreitz - currently in the sprint car hall of fame as a driver might be a little smarter then some of the other drivers and fans doing the complaining.  By this theory, others who are/were a bit ahead of everyone else must be cheaters. Karl Kinser must have been a cheater. Ricky Warner must be a cheater (and people will say they are but the car gets tech'd how many times a year), hell Bobby Allen must be a cheater because Logan Schuchart is beating teams regularly that have twenty times their budget.  Or maybe these guys think a little ahead of everyone else and that is where the 69k team is - a little ahead of everyone else.  Or maybe we can use the theory from a convicted drug dealer Kenny Weld; use something small to cover up something bigger.  Great point of reference from a man with clearly high moral values.

Donnie Kreitz addressed the cheating rumors on Winged Nation or another podcast a month or two ago.  Said he would not jeopardize his family business which is selling racing parts to cheat. They do not make their living racing sprint cars, they make their living owning a speed shop and he could not make a living owning a speed shop with a car that is/was cheating.  Again, the conspiracy theories will come out claiming something else because you know Donnie Kreitz doesn't seem like a stand up type of guy, does he.  Always been a dirty good for nothing driver and owner? Oh wait, no one has ever accused him of any of those things in 30 years.  As for the comment I made about the left front tire.  Even with the right front off the ground going 140 miles an hour going down a straightaway, the compound does not matter much.  The right front gets the car into the corner and that is the most important job of the front tires.  Yes you need to keep it off the wall but you don't hear many people say, man that left front tire won't get me in the turn.  Again all tires have some importance but my point was the rear are much more important and more specifically the ones that are altered and doped the most.

Clearly I respect the 69k team but they did get with an illegal front tire and they were penalized for it.  Maybe everyone else was running that tire but bottom line is they got caught.  Penalty seemed to fit the crime and the tires certainly didn't seem to hurt their performance the rest of the night.  To make something more of that is exactly the definition of a conpiracy theory.  Using the quotes from a convicted drug dealer is just dumb because to understand the meaining of the quote you must go back to the character of the person making that quote.  People in  general want to tear down anyone else who is doing well and winning to justify their own miserable beliefs.  This is a team that comes along every 20 years or so, I for one am going to sit back and enjoy it as long as it lasts.

Yes, Davey Brown has been aroung long enough know and have also heard in the years past especially with Weikert and Wolfgang especially with motor size what he knows and has done.  I am sure the front tires are not the only area that needs to be tech'd.

You do realize that there were no motor rules for c.i. when Wolfgang ran the Weikert car right?  They could run whatever fit between the frame rails and it was legal until about 1988.

Funniest thing is that some of these assclowns accuse the track of being in on the conspiracy - making it dry/slick for the 69k team. Well you sure as hell aren't going to dope your tires to get them soft for a hard slick track. You wouldn't make it half way through the feature. Lance has been an advocate for a smaller/harder RR for sprint car racing for years, and was always a driver who had his car set up with harder tires that would come in over long green flag runs.

Wolfe wanted to take the 29 car on the WoO tour. DB sr and weikert had other ideas.

So I supposed you also believe that aliens abducted Jimmy Hoffa and dropped him off on Venus, there were AT LEAST 18 gunmen at Dealey Plaza when JFK was assassinated and that the pyramids were built not just by humans, but by aliens assisting humans with lasers and shit. The 69K team made an honest mistake. Go talk to them. Ask them what happened. They'll be glad tell you all about it. You'll be surprised what you learn.......
