Outlaws, then I'd say PA, OH, Knoxville, CA are all pretty even.

Outlaws from the Midwest area could include Donny Scahtz.....so I think you're borrowing from the Outlaws, NASCAR etc is beyond what the original post was asking for....

Larson is running Sprints almost as much as DeWease this season (and more in the past few weeks for sure). Why wouldn't Larson be counted?

Undoubtably...

He will join such PA Posse Greats as Steve Kinser, Kasey Kahne, Jeff Gordon, AJ Foyt, and my personal favorite Posse member -- Juan Pablo Montoya.

Thanks,

Jeff.

Fine, no problem. The Midweat representatives includes:

Donny Schatz (borrowed from the Outlaws)

Danny Lasoski

Brian Brown

Ian Madsen

Kerry Madsen

Craig Dollansky

Mark Donmeier

Terry McCarl

Line 'em up and throw the flag.......Smile

Larson is CA. He and Rico can go anywhere and be a driver that has a better than 50/50 chance of winning the show. Behind the outlaws I think it's a tuff call between posse and knoxville regulars. I give a slight edge to posse drivers.  The allstars have a young group of drivers and they usually  have a uphill battle facing off against the posse or noxville guys when they come to town.

IMO Knoxville still has the toughest weekly competition of any track.  Now Posse is maybe at a disadvantage here bc they split between several tracks (say Lincoln and Port on Saturdays).

Ranking is dependant on so many things. But from looking at the results of the woo and assoc i would say from a fans point of view it must be more fun to watch an assoc race. Anyone seems to be able to place in the top 10 or win. In woo its usually one of 5 that win and those other 4 fill out the top 5. As a racer i would rather have to race assoc when they come to town cause it seems there is a chance of placing. I know that is obvious cause we all want to win but even loosing with a chance to win is better than loosing with no chance of winning. Maybe the woo are fastest and more technical. Sure the superior league but for fans other drivers and excitement i would rather watch 24 cars wheel to wheel than 4 cars bumper to bumper.

Being a cyber fan and watching from afar i think my next usa trip for sprints will be planned around assoc not the woo. Gotta be teeter for the track and the locals so for development and excitement i vote for assoc.

Is this perhaps the reason the woo do not go to edmonton alberta for the last 2 years. Locals are tired of the woo walking out of the country will all our local currency and the fans like to see their heroes at least on the lead lap??

Side question. Seems like the assoc schedule in the ohio speedweek but not the penn speedweek. Is there a reason for that? Thot someone here said the 2 speedweeks overlapped. I dont see that. Am i missing it?

The top two drivers over the last ten years were the WOO champions lets not forget that if Jason Myers owner would have played it straight Jason might have six or seven championships by now and yes hes from California.

I have never been that far west but the list from out there semms to be getting bigger and stronger, while the East ,All Stars and Ohio seem on a downward trend.

Myers had a career year, I don't think he would have been besting Schatz consistently over the last 6-7 years but you are right that CA has been producing a lot of great drivers. I think OH is on an upward trend, not down. A lot of good young drivers in the buckeye state. They seem more content to race local rather than travel with the All-Stars, or travel anywhere.

The all stars don't sanction PA speedweek. I heard rumors they discussed it but drivers didn't want to run multiple speedweeks. Just too many races in a row in my opinion for an Ohio based series.

Also, when you come to watch the All Stars I highly recommend planning for early september if you come this year. First there is American Late Model Series and FAST (Ohio Local series) 410 sprint series both 5k to win at Attica Friday 9/1. Next day there is the Dirt Classic Ohio sanctioned by all stars a for 10k on 9/2 with 305 sprints as support class. Then Sunday there is a 10k to win all star show at Wayne county Sunday 9/3 with super stocks as support. Very stout local competition, last completed All Star show at Attica the locals swept the top 5.
