Between the truck race last night, and 30 laps into the Xfinity race......holy crap. Some serious carnage so far.

When NASCAR and INDYCAR removed the creativity from car owners and constructors, racing lost excitement.  At present, NASCAR had made the cars too equal, in fact they are on par with the old IROC cars.   Identical.  Allow creativity in body modifications, engine assembly, etc.  If we are not diligent, sprint car racing will follow the same path.

I can never keep up with all of Nascar changes. Seems they change rules every year, and sometimes when ever they want. Is the "Chase" a thing of the past now? They kept talking about needing all the points they could get to make the playoffs!? Not to make the chase. Will this year's playoffs be different than the chase? Just wondering cause I only watch the last 35 or so laps (when I remember and time it right) and don't pay much attention to Nascar overall. Especially after sprint  are racing starts at Knoxville.

Anytime a sport or a business is continually making dramatic changes, it's because they realize that what they have isn't working and it's slipping in popularity or sales or both. Problem with NASCAR is every time they make a damn change in the rules, the points system or the format, they get further and further from what they are suppose to be......AUTOMOBILE RACING!

It's not even racing.   It's all luck and anyone in the field can win.  There's guys who've won there and Talladega that don't or didn't have a snowballs chance in hell to win anywhere else.

Be careful. Your kind is not welcome here or hardly any other "racing" arenas.  Thanks for some true wisdom. Sprint car racing is already wide open against the fence on this "path"  If we don't get excited about the humans behind the wheel, our kind are quickly asked to leave.  Hoping the winning car owner from yesteday's freak show will bring sprint car racing something truly new and different is ironic to say the very least.

Research shows us that approximately, only 30 percent of all family-owned businesses survive into the second generation and only 12 percent will be survive into the third generation. Surprisingly, only 3 percent of all family businesses operate at the fourth generation and beyond.

All forms of racing have become inundated with "spec" chassis, engines, bodies, etc.  Creativity has been legislated (rules) out.  Therefore, the sanctioning bodies have "rules" out competitive racing.  Many years ago on the starting line at OCIR someone asked Gene Adams why he built a double engined Top Fuel dragster.  He responded to the effect, I am a real racer with a real race car.  I did not buy a (Don) Long Chassis and (Keith) Black engine dragster.  I built my own.

I think Derek Cope won another race besides the '90 500--but point taken!

John Andretti, if I remember correctly, won at Daytona early on.  It made me think he was a fluke in a stock car as well.  Then, later in his career, he wins at Martinsville.  ?????????  WTF?

And sadly the sanctioning bodies make changes with costs in mind. I've sure seen a resurgance in teams beacuse of lowered costs! NOT!

Yeah he ran a pretty good race. I'm willing to bet that Blaney, Elliott, Larson, and Austin Dillon will be the new top drivers here in a few years after the Busch's and Johnson move on.

Lake Speed's only career Cup win came at Darlington, not Daytona or Talladega.

Once again you show just how big of an idiot you are. By the way, Dale Jr. has won two Daytona 500s. At least if you're going to be an idiot, get your shit straight.

Boy I am stupid.  I thought we were talking about how you don't have to be a decent talent to win a plate race.  I am completely clueless.  Thanks for setting me straight.
