Back in the day it was one of the top 3 or 4 shows of the year. I had photographer friends fly out from IN and OH just to shoot the wheelstands, the place was that tacky. The place misses two of the best in the business, Robbie and John Padjen. They used to draw over 100 cars every year but those days are long gone, c'est la vie....

from what i understand the high prices may be attributed to the "cost of the woo fee" they charge to put on the show.

Yikes. Thats odd, for 4crown with the WoO friday night it is $29 and $34 for USAC/All Stars Saturday night. Spent $40 at Attica for the Brad Doty Classic but that was just because I bought a pit pass to sit out of turn 4 since the place was packed. I think Reserved was $35 and the same with Fremont Speedway as well. $31 for the WoO/USAC at Eldora in may and maybe $36 for the Kings Royal.
Don't know if it has to do with the amount of seats or taxes per state but it sounds like its a good thing I live in Ohio since we are about $20 less. My buddy that goes to the races with me did the whole west coast swing that is going on now last year and said out of all the tracks Chico was the worst and the biggest dissappointment because it was a track that was always on his bucket list.

actually the track ha been fabulous all year, first time i've seen it this way. dennis gage and crew have done extremely well all year. it was fast and tacky before they "brought out the equipment!" should have left it alone imo.
Ascot was the greatest of all time..
West Capital wasn't half bad either..

I've been to Silver Dollar a bunch of times this year, and the track has been excellent every time until Wednesday night. The track was sweet for the nonwing cars and midgets last night. They were racing hard all over the track. No dust and no rubber.

Used to go to Gold Cup from the late 80's to 2002. Track was almost always the same with the 3 night Gold Cup. Thursday was just glew factory, tacker than hell. Friday was dry slick, always had Steve and Brent going at it in the infield of of turn 2. Saturday was wet slick from the G mains up to the C mains then the track would start to come in. By the time the A main started it was good. By the end of the 40 lap A main the track was just starting to go away.

the track was in fabulous shape last night, friday. pretty much three groove track most of the night. stewart was wicked fast on the top groove for the win. stewart, saldana, haud (ran in usual haud style!) round out the top three.
