Agreed. The Williams Grove folks are living in days past. Port Royal Speedway IS the premier track in Pa.

Sorry to ruffle feathers but the premier track and best facility in Pa. resides in Western Pa. Lernerville Speedway

One thing I'll give Williams Grove above all others is that they don't try to shove a bunch of fendered shit down our throats week in & week out like Port Royal does. The Grove has it figured out. On regular nights, it's usually 410's with either 358's, 305's or 360's. They have a couple of late model shows and that's perfectly fine. If I had to go by what I'm seeing, I'd say Port wants to become a Late Model track. Biggest race of the year coming up and all I've seen on Twitter is shit about the Late Models who are the support division Friday night. You'd think they'd want to try and create a little hype considering the premier race, for their premier division is happening this weekend.

fiXXXer, Port has run spints and late models all but a couple years since the sixties and they will continue to do it. Get over it. This isn't new. Port doesn't want to become a late model track they have been a sprint and late model track for over fifty years. I hate to break it to some but there are more late models, more late model fans and more big money races for late models in the country than sprints.

I'm well aware that they've always ran late models and sprints. I'm not sure you got the point of what I was saying. They've been kissing ass BIG TIME with the late model division the last 2 seasons and it seems they just kinda take the sprinters for granted. Not sure if they're seeing dollar signs or what but without the sprints, that place would be screwed. That simple. I don't care how many more late models there are across the country than sprints, in Central PA, sprint cars are king. All I'm saying is, they're constantly hyping the late models lately and rarely ever give any mention to the sprint division which for the last however many decades, has been their bread and butter through the good times and the bad. All in all, I'm happy with Port Royal these days but they need to seriously give some attention to the sprint division again because car counts are headed the wrong way for them while at Lincoln, car counts have been high 20's to low 30's week in and week out even if Port is having a sprint car special on the same night. If they lose the sprint cars, that place will be done. It will never be successful as a stand alone late model track. They tried for a couple of years to run a late model speedweek show without sprints and the crowds were terrible.

Four $10.000 or plus races, six $5,000 or plus races and some $4,000 to win races. Exactly how is that not paying any attention to the sprint cars? Yes the sprints are the headliner most nights but late models are large part of the equation there also.

That's a good post. Sprints are the main attraction at Port Royal, but the late models aren't just a support class either and have provided great racing in the past several years too. Got quite a few LM fans that attend Port each week as well. It doesn't hurt to promote both classes. This weekend is a good example .... and one of the best weekends of the year.

A quote from Danny Dietrich's twiitter today. " Come out tonight and support the track that does the most for us racer's and you, the fans...Port Royal Speedway. "
Enough said. End of story. This coming from one of the top Pa drivers who runs Port, WG, Susky, and Lincoln. But I'm sure the keyboard commandos on here will argue with that statement. Because you all know so much more, LMAO!!!!!

The Grove is the premier track for fireworks but that's about it.

Great racing last night. Track was good but would've been better if they'd left the grader parked before the feature. Didn't see any need to grade what little cushion there was but still, pretty good race nonetheless.

My question is, if he loves Port so much, why does he still run Lincoln every week? He's made comments like that before but still remains a Lincoln regular. I'd certainly like to see him there every week. Probably never happen though
