Robert "Bob" Thoman a Higginsville native wanted to be just like fellow Central Missouri racers Roy Hibbard, Tom Corbin, and Bill Utz as far as racing sprintcars "super modifieds" and running and winning at Marshall, Sedalia, Jeff City, and any other track here in the Midwest. he did every bit of that plus some.

Bob won his 1st race in an b-mod super in 1970 at California MO. from their Bob would go on to add fuel injection to the car and make the car a super modified. This opens up Bob to a whole new area of competition.

1979 Bob wins the last half of the Roadrunner 100 at Empire Speedway in Farmington MO., he would do this two more times in his racing career.

Bob's said his biggest win was at Capital Speedway in Jeff City where an out of town promoter brought in the biggest names in sprint racing at the time, he ended up winning the race and in the winners circle the promoter said, "who are you and where are you from".

After a lay off from racing for some medical reasons Bob made a come back at age 71, then in 2014 won a non wing race at Lebanon MO. Speedway.

I told Bob,"no one represents the older generation better than him right now", keep up the racing Bob.

Congratulations to Bob Thoman for being nominated into the C.A.R.B. Hall of Fame for 2016.
