Kosiski All the Way in NCRA Late Models at 81 Speedway!

Park City, Kansas – September 5, 2015 - Brian Kosiski took the lead from his outside front row position and was never seriously challenged in claiming Saturday night’s National Championship Racing Association/NeSmith Weekly Racing Series late model feature at 81 Speedway in Park City in the first of two events scheduled during this Labor Day weekend.

Darrick Klima and Kosiski started on the front row for the twenty lap feature with Kosiski quickly jumping out into the lead as the green flag fell. Klima, Chris Kratzer, Delbert Smith and Dusty Leonard gave chase before the first caution of the feature fell when Brian Hickman spun at the top of turn three.

The restart saw Kosiski get a jump out front and by lap four had a ten car length lead over Klima. His lead grew to a half stretch advantage by lap ten and behind him, Dusty Leonard had worked his way up from his fifth starting position into the runner up position while Chris Kratzer and Delbert Smith battled side by side for the fourth position.

A couple of cautions for spins appeared on lap twelve that slowed the pace of the feature and when race action finally resumed, so did Kosiski, who was on a rail using the top side of the three-eighths mile oval. He would go the final eight laps unchallenged to claim the full straightaway victory and his division leading third of the season.

Leonard put in a strong performance to finish second while Delbert Smith go the best of Kratzer in the battle for the third position. Current division point leader Dan Smith rounded out the top five.

The two, eight lap heat races for the seventeen car field were won by Kratzer and Delbert Smith.

Jimmy Seagraves, aboard the #7c late model, got high down the back stretch and his the wall entering turn three in his heat race and rolled several times. He was uninjured and done for the night.

The  NCRA/NeSmith Racing Series late model tour will head to the Belleville High Banks Speedway in Belleville, Kansas tomorrow (Sunday) night for their annual Labor Day weekend event.
