LIGHTNING SPRINTS BACK AT PERRIS AUTO SPEEDWAY THIS SATURDAY!

(Placentia, CA, March 28, 2012) For the first time in three weeks, the California Lightning
Sprint Car Series will return to action this Saturday night, March 31st, at Perris Auto Speedway. Based on the first two races of 2012, newly turned 18-year-old Kevin Michnowicz has to be the odds on favorite to win the 20-lap main event. Joining the CLS on the triple header open wheel racing card will be the USAC/CRA Sprint Cars and the PAS Senior Sprint Cars. Spectator gates will open at 5:00 PM and the first race will be at 7:00.

Rain forced postponement of the last CLS race at Bakersfield two weeks ago, but it will not be a factor this Saturday night. Michnowicz, who in addition to winning the March 10th race also dominated the season opener on February 25th, will seek to extend his current point lead over veterans Dan Hillberg of Placentia and Guy Maresch of Anaheim Hills. Coming into
Saturday night, Michnowicz, who is perfect on the season having won both mains and his heat race each night, leads Hillberg by 49-points and Maresch by 61. In a literal battle of the ages,
Michnowicz is flying the flag of teenagers in all of racing as he is the only driver in the top five in the standings who is under the age of 50.

At the last race at The PAS on March 10th, Michnowicz scored an impressive win over defending series champ Tim Brown of Wildomar and Hemet teenager Alexander Bissett. Brown, who skipped the season opener, and Bissett, who turned 17 earlier this month, will
both back to challenge Michnowicz on Saturday.

Another driver to watch out for on Saturday will be Stuart Hielscher Jr. who will be making his first appearance at The PAS in quite some time. The Murrieta based driver, who is the son of the 2009 series champion Stuart Hielscher Sr., took a few seasons off while playing football at Palomar College. He has a brand new car that he will debut on Saturday.

After Saturday's race, the CLS will take the Easter weekend off before heading to the Bakersfield Speedway on April 14th.

For those who cannot make it to The PAS on Saturday and who live more than 100-miles from the track, the race will be available live online on the 3-Wide Live Network for $9.99. The race will be available to everyone no matter where you live "ON Demand" within 24 hours of the event. The link for the web cast is: http://3widenetworks.com/
