I just bought a new 280-2 and can not for the life of me get tthe car to hook up. I am running a winged sprint maxim raised rail chassis kinsler 2 11/16 injection, kinsler fuel pump, dmi 4.12 rear end and started at 5.72 for gears ended up down at 5.22 for gears and fattened up the fuel trying to stop the wheel spin to no avail. when I went down to 5.09 gears the car went "flat" no pick up at all I am lost as what to do as I know this motor should be a great all around use motor and very user friendly according to my engine builder. my fuel setting were set exactly to to spec until I fattened them to try to reduce power I never had this problem with my 270-2 motor. any help, suggestions or guidance n the right direction would be greatly appreciated thanks in advance

start right back to stock settings, try lowing down the high-speed. "more lbs" more fuel later. this will help the burst of power to the wheels. that's what i would try. areo

you have the exact problem that many of us have. You might want to take say 2 degrees out of timeing. Take air in tires down to about 6 in rt rear and 4 in left. Raise front a little and tie down shocks on both rears. Good luck

I would work on getting the car hooked up, and maybe some changes to the throttle pedal ratio, driving style instead of detuning the engine. Give details of car and setups.

I was told by a well known driver to foreget what book says. If you have 16 inch tires the only way to get car hooked up is with wing. Block chassis at 3.5 in front and 4 in back. Raise wing and move it back further that before. Try raising left rear radius rod. Put 1 turn in rt rear and 1 turn in left front. It might work.
