Earlier in the year I heard some rumblings of Toyota making the move into the sprint car world with Chris Bell and supposedly a fulltime sprint car driver. I never heard of who that driver may be or even if it would happen in the upcoming 2021 season.
- Does it happen at all?
- Does it happen in 2021?
- Do they run an open schedule or a series?
- Will they be competitive?
- Who's the driver?

Engines are almost done.
my guess is mid 2021 if at all
my guess is open next season, outlaws 2022
they are stupid fast in every other form of racing, so why not.
my guess Aaron Ruetzel.

Hell, it can’t be a bad thing, nothing like some good competition. I’m with you, they are fast wherever they run. If all this was in the works before anything was announced or leaked, they might be there for the start of 2021 season. I also think they would run an open schedule, then run for points after the bugs are worked out. Could be Reutzel, but Bell is tight with a few drivers.

It might not be a good thing, Toyota throws a ton of money at whatever they pursue. You think engines are expensive now, wait until Toyota gets in the game if they do. I know of a certain open wheel class that if you don't have a Toyota based engine your chances to be competitive are not real good , I imagine it could go the same way with sprint cars.

Maybe cast iron blocks and Holley 4 barrels are the answer to this problem..............................or, maybe we move forward.

Very progressive of you. Most people that don't have to pay the bills don't mind spending other peoples money. Not a big fan of cubic dollars, but the cars really need to be unhooked. Sprints might end up like the the drag racing scene that went from a quarter mile to 1000 ft. because the cars were going to fast for the facilities. People already say the cars are getting to fast and expensive and we are losing some teams due to expense .

This thread isn't about engine costs and where the sport may or may not be heading. I knew it was going to go this way and almost asked you guys to leave engine costs out of it. But true to the HH forum way, people direct threads in a complete opposite way from the original post. If you want to talk about how engine prices are killing the sport, or how the cars are going too fast for the drivers, you can always start your own thread.

The factor nobody has touched on is woo. They are not going to let Toyota development have a free hand. Look at what TSR and Ron Shaver had to go through to get the new Ford motor approved.

Not sensitive at all guy, the motor expense topic and how's it's killing the sport has been ran throuh the forum a few times. As well as thread hijacking. Im not one to hold my tounge, I call it like I see it.

I did mention Toyota and racing, don't really think that was hijacking but if you say so. I was replying to your post that mentioned "hell, it can't be a bad thing". Good thing I didn't bring up the china virus that would have really sent you into a spin. Thanks for the fun.

I know this might be a bit off topic but is the Toyota sprint car engine based off of the same platform as the USAC silver crown engine? Interesting to know that its WoO approved already.
