Looked at his All Star stats for the year and could hardly believe what I saw.  Last 8 starts:  8th to 10th, 12th to 8th, 1st to 3rd, Bmain 7th to Bmain 11th, 7th to 13th, 18th to 16th, 22nd to 17th. The previous dozen+ starts are the same(similar).   I only follow the WoO so this was huge news to me.  Can't be happy.

Lawlessness and liberalism equals Hell. NY City,
Detroit, Seattle, Chicago, Minnepolis, etc. We saw it.
Burning hundreds of buildings, a thousand assaults and
dozens of murders. Getting worser and worser.

Tony will be 50 next year.  He basically runs part time   He's hung with the big dogs here and there over the last few years but never with any consistency.  I don't think any of this is really unexplained or unexpected.

He hasn't been the same in any car since his crash at Oskaloosa.

Tony still makes A mains.  Alot of drivers would like to trade him finishes.  Tony has no reason to drive balls to the wall like Larson, he has nothing to prove.  He has done it all.

Well, it looks like he's pretty consistent at least.

That's been my observation as well. Sometimes something like a leg injury can affect how smooth a driver is on the throttle plus his or her overall feel of what the car is doing etc. In a sport where the top 20, or in some cases 30, in time trials are within half a second of one another, you can't afford to lose even the slightest edge. He's still pretty good and can reel off a win here and there against some pretty stout competition.

Another possibility is he has a few irons in the fire.  With everything he has going on I wonder how much time he can prepare for a race, I'm not talking about car preperation but he can't have much time to think about the races between the races, if you know what I mean.

While he is getting older and lots on the go, I'am pretty sure a new engine program doesn't help much either at his age..He's doing okay for a 50 yr old guy..Enjoying and livin the dream..

Tony has nothing to prove plus his presence brings fans to his series. Guys like Jac and Sammy Steve and Doug were the best in their prime but age or injury has a way of slowing you down. The All Star series has had some excellent races but need to start Larson at the back and give him extra incentive to make show better and probably be more fun for him. The best races are ones where you see your guy like Sheldon go to the back and bonzia to the front.Hard to put a number on extra fans that certain name drivers put in the seats.Hewitt stated as long as they buy a ticket they can cheer or boo.

I can't imagine what a day in Tony Stewart's life is.  Nascrap, sponsor commitments, new Ford engine, all stars, woo team, and then somewhere in there he has to have a personal life. I'm pretty sure he has people in place to handle a great deal of this but I'm also pretty sure he wants to have a say so on the guidelines for how things are handled on a daily basis  by whomever. He enjoys strapping in and getting out there to make laps, if things are right he can be up front, if not he isn't going to take any extreme chances that a young buck would.

If you only follow WoO then you may want to check out what you have been missing on FloRacing the other 5 nights per week.     Tony Stewart has been kicking butt.     The big WoO races at (Tony's) Eldora got cancelled this summer but they added some races for (Tony's) ASCoC.      Tonight there is a $10,000 to win race at Eldora and tomorrow there is a $52,000 to win race.      Not bad for a school night !    These ASCoC races are invitation only featuring some top invaders like (Tony's) TSR 15, Brad Sweet, Shark racing guys, David Gravel, Daryn Pittman,  and more.

Tony also owns Paducah International Speedway and Macon Speedway.   On occasion,  Tony even enters a 410 sprint car race against the top competition and scores a top ten including a recent podium finish at the Speed Palace.     Not bad for a track/series/car owner !

Gotta be happy.

These days, Tony races because he still like to race. He doesn't need to win, he owns the ASCOC and that revenue alone is a winner. He knows that his entry alone is a fan draw for the series. As the series owner, he is personable, generous, and reasonable to everyone. His personal relationship with Kyle Larson has been very profitable for both parties and has provided the fans with some really great racing. These days I'd rather go to an ASCOC race than a WOO race.

It hasn't been that many years ago when the ASCOC guys really didn't like racing the PA Posse. The last few years they have praciically dominated the Posse, so the Posse guys will reall have to step up their motor programs and set ups to stay in the hunt for 2021.

For me personally, every time I attend a sprint car race and hear Smoke is in the field, I consider it a bonus.....I think he has been more than competive this season considering how "hit & miss" his schedule has been this year. Some folks hunt, fish or go to the beach for entertainment.....Tony races sprint cars for his relaxation.

i actually thought he was running a bit better than usual.  we've seen twice after races in the pits which means he made the feature.  the last couple years he was always gone because he didn't make it out of the b...or worse.

only concern i had is he seems to be racing less.  i believe the 50 was his first appearance in pa for the year.  i was wondering what the story was there.

Does Paducah even run anymore? Both the website and Facebook haven't been updated since 2018? Seems odd for something in his portfolio.

When did he ever do much in winged sprint cars? Most of heroics were with USAC or NASCAR...

I'm not sure if they race at Paducah anymore.     I mentioned him owning those tracks because I figured that may be news to some folks.

I have good news for the kids that think Tony can't win anymore.    Yesterday the racing video game "Tony Stewart's All-American Racing"   hit the shelves at Wal-Mart.       Now you can go to Wal-Mart, purchase the Tony Stewart game, then go home and beat him in a street stock, modified, and a legends car all day long on your computer.

Around 2010 he started to get fairly competitive with the WoO, even winning a few events. After breaking his leg in 2013 and then the time he missed after the incident in NY, he just never seemed to fully get back to that level. Still not scrub by any means and can probably still grab a few All Star wins and maybe even a WoO one.

The 14 car seems to be lacking lately. At least compared to early season where it shined. TK drove it to a third at Eldora? Not bad.
