How about #69ktoSelinsgrove that would be more impressive.

I think that it's a bucket list thing. I don't know Lance or the other 2, but as a another old guy, if I'm almost done, I want to fill the list out. Lance has run SG many times over the years, Donnie was a regular when they were a Sat. night 410 track in the 80's,and Davey has probably been going there since the 60's. Every sprint car driver on the planet wants to win the granddaddy of them all. But the days of pulling in with a big bullet and bigger kahunas are over. You'd better be prepared for the Nationals, and that means track time.

Just a question from for outside the territory but why is it such a big deal for a Posse driver to attend a PA track? I understand the distance to Knoxville makes the undertaking a big deal but this seems like a simple days journey.
Even though I may not know you, I
care what most of you think!

I don't know the exact details, but apparently an incident happened years ago between Don Kreitz and the mangement/promotors of Selinsgrove Speedway and the 69K has stayed away from any racing at the track. Despite being successful and winning a lot of features there over the years at Selinsgrove and a few promotors later, the team stuck to their guns. So the announcement that Lance and the team will make a return is a very big deal in Cental Pa. Maybe someone else can share more information of what actually happened?

The latest documented attendance I would could of Mr Kreitz at Selinsgrove was 1993. Maybe he’s been there later but that is the latest results I could dig up.

After that, I don't remember the year....when Ryan Smith ran the 69k as a team car. They went to the National Open at Selinsgrove. They have not been there since.
Let's go Sprint Car Racing!
Knoxville - Best Track In the USA!
Eldora - 2nd Best Track in the USA!

What happened to these guys? They were the fastest team around PA as usual and then they changed motor builders right before Knoxville. Now they are nowhere near as fast as they were before the motor change. I understand that they might be planning for life after Davey Brown but why the hell would you do it right before Knoxville? Doesn't make any sense to me. And they come back to PA and are a 5th place car every night. They're not gonna win a race the rest of the year. I'm dumbfounded. Someone straighten me out.

Early in the season Don mentioned that Davey did a great job freshening up the engines over the winter. They were winning almost everytime they brought the car out. Lance passed Schatz for the win at the Grove on 5/18. The 69K team was flying high. Then everything changed.
They got a new Rider engine. They struggled and kept going backwards in features even at Port Royal where they have been so dominant. They have won one feature with the Rider. It was against he All Stars at the Grove a week and a half ago.
Shaffer, Reutzel, Eliason, Monteith, Mark Smith, McFadden, Courtney, Wolfe, Franek, Sanders, Bell, Larson, Macedo, Bowser, Wagner, Tmac, Netto, Nienhiser, Juhl, and many other drivers have won with a Rider engine this year. Based on feature wins, Rider is the best engine out there. Yet it appears that Rider engines are what slowed down the 69K team. I find it very interesting.... Why did they switch ? Why have they struggled with the Rider ? And most puzzling..... why is everybody's strength (Rider), their weakness ?
Maybe they have got if figured out now because they are at least All Star fast. Either way, it will be fun watching.

In the last three races they ran 1st and 2nd at Williams Grove and were one of the faster cars at Susky before the DQ debacle, so I think they are going to be fine.

Donnie was at Selinsgrove in the late 90's, thinking 98 or 99? It was a speedweek race and Donnie was leading a close points battle. He ran OK, finished around 9th I think, but it wasn't good enough to win the speedweek title. Pretty sure that was the last time the 69k was at Selinsgrove.
To Rod, the reason its' kind of a big deal is that it'e been at least 2 decades since the 69k has run at Selinsgrove(other than Ryan Smith the year he ran the team car). Donnie started his career as a regular at Selinsgrove in the mid 80's and won a couple track titles and 36 features.

Not sure the details either but I heard Reitz didn't pay him the whole purse money 1 time when he was the promoter and that's when Donnie stopped running there sometime in the early 90's.
