SECOND PLACE FINISH KEEPS ROA IN USAC SOUTHWEST SERIES POINTS LEAD!
(Cypress, CA, June 6, 2019) Brody Roa steered his black and green #91R to a second-place finish in the USAC Southwest Series main event last Saturday night at the Arizona Speedway. The impressive outing keeps the Garden Grove, California veteran in the points lead heading into this Saturday’s race at Canyon Speedway Park.
Roa, 28, was 4th fastest driver in qualifying of the 12-cars on hand. The veteran racer followed that up with a third-place finish in his 10-lap heat race. For the 30-lap main, the past USAC West Coast Sprint Car Series champion started third and brought it home second.
The finish sees Roa heading back to Arizona for this Saturday’s “Canyon Speedway Park Birthday Bash” with a 44-point lead in the championship standings. It will be his fourth appearance at Canyon in 2019. Thus far he has recorded a win, a second-place finish and a third at the suburban Phoenix oval. All told, the fan friendly-driver has raced in Arizona seven times this year. To date, he has the aforementioned win, three second place finishes and two third place results. The only time he has finished outside of the top three in the “Copper State” was a sixth at Arizona Speedway on April 20th.
After this week’s race, Roa gets a couple of weeks out of the cockpit of his sprint car but beginning with the June 29th USAC/CRA race at Perris, things will get very busy. In a four-week span, he will be racing a minimum of 11-times in California and Indiana.
Fans who would like to see Roa in action this week can find Canyon Speedway Park at 9777 W. Carefree Hwy., in Peoria (85383). The Spectator gates will open at 5:00 P.M. and the first race is at 7:30.
